Excellent to add to an omlet

Gale November 1, 2025

Instead of boiling a couple of potatoes for an omelet, I use these potatoes to use along with my other additions to a large omelet. Also, good for sautéing as a side dish to several other entrées with a little EVO and/or butter and your favorite seasonings. Quick, easy and tasty!

Great Value sliced potatoes in a can

G June 10, 2025

I always get Great Value cand potatoes I like the sliced ones the diced ones I mean it's just me and my dog so it doesn't do me good to have a bag of potatoes I like instant potatoes too but when you need the potato the meat of the potato to make potato salad or to cook I mean I can hold one sometimes too if you want to cook a roast or something or chicken and you need thicker vegetables around it but I really like the can slice in the in the dice the most and they're good and I rinse them off three or four times when I open the can pouring that you know sodium water or what not the preservative water they've always had a good flavor and worked out well for me

I like that they are a great alternative to fresh potatoes. A bag of potatoes is too much for me to use all of it before they sprout, shrivel and grow roots. Excellent texture.

Great Alternative

Terry September 23, 2025

Not high in sodium, you get a lot per can and tastes great. I microwave them and then season and that's about all the preparation necessary. Always keep a few cans of this on hand.

Great shortcut for recipes!

Anonymous May 8, 2026

These potatoes are delicious — we use them in vegetable soup, green beans and new potatoes casserole, and potato salad! So helpful in speeding up the process for these recipes and others

Good Fried with Onions and Bell Peppers

valerie June 1, 2017

I like to keep a variety of can potatoes in my pantry. Some times I run out of fresh potatoes and some times I don't want to peel potatoes. These sliced can potatoes always taste fresh and crunchy. I fry them in a skillet with butter, onions, and bell pepper. I also some times use the can slice potatoes when making potato salad. It really is better to purchase can goods in the store because often they do arrive dented when ordering online.

They are good to have around for the days of just in case. I wouldn't want them all the time, but on occasion they do come in handy and just season them up real good. As in any other can vegetables they are not as good as fresh but in a pinch or a hurry they are good to use with your spices and cooking know how.

My mistake

Kathy February 12, 2026

I ordered diced not sliced. The diced potatoes were not available. And I accidentally accepted the substitute.
