Wow! Excellent mattifying powder! I had previously been using a Translucent mattifying powder from Avon for a number of years and I just found out that they discontinued it so I kind of panicked when I started hitting pan on my powder. I decided to investigate another brand and I kept seeing good reviews for the Maybelline New York Fit Me Poreless Mattifying Powder. I was thrilled that it came in Translucent because not all powders have that specific shade. I've seen this particular powder in a number of places where I could easily buy it but once again Walmart.ca had the best price. I thought if I ended up not liking it, I could feel good that I wasn't shelling out a lot of money. Anyhow, this Maybelline powder is so much better than the Avon powder that I thought was my holy grail. The staying power of the Maybelline powder is phenomenal! I don't have to blot my forehead throughout the day like I did with the Avon product. I generally just pat the powder over my oily area which is my forehead and eyelids and it stays put...awesome purchase!
I brought this from farmers and it is my holy grail i am setting up a you tube channel and would love to be able to review Maybelline products which i have used since i was 16. So many of your older products are still available as so often our favourites are discontinued.
I'm a light skinned african american, and I love Maybelline products. I was so happy that they had toffee in Walmart for a low price cause I couldn't find it at other places. The color is great, and it doesn't feel like you put too much on your face after the BB cream. Let's your skin breath like it said on the advertisement, but I wonder why it has low ratings in the first place this is a good product if you know your shade. Still would recommend this to anyone.
I picked up the Maybelline Fit Me! pressed powder on a whim on one of my trips to the pharmacy. I had heard a lot of good things about Maybelline's Fit Me! range and my curiosity got the best of me so I bought the pressed powered in Buff Beige 125. The compact powder comes in a square compact with two layers, the top layer is for the powder and the bottom one for the puff applicator with a mirror built-in. I'm not too fond of the puff applicator and have replaced it with a stubby dense brush to touch up on the go. At home I just use my powder brush to apply the pressed powder. I can see shimmery bits in the powder pan when catches the light at a certain angle but for me the shimmer doesn't transfer onto my face. I usually apply the powder on after moisturising and priming for a natural look when I'm just going out to the grocery store or somewhere casual. Otherwise, I use the powder to set my foundation if I'm going to work or out somewhere special. Either way the powder lasts longer if I layer on face primer beforehand. If I don't apply face primer I have to touch up every 2-3 hours and that's not usually ideal when I'm on the go.The Fit Me! powder is not as finely milled as more high end powders but its lightweight, blends well, and doesn't settle into creases. I have combo to oily skin and this mattes out my t zone without sinking into my pores or looking cakey. I have a cool neutral skin tone and 125 is just the perfect shade for me, neither pink nor yellow. It matches my neutral cool skin tone perfectly when applied and is build-able if I want heavier coverage. For the low price I think Maybelline's Fit Me! powder is an excellent pressed compact powder for anyone on a budget. ProsBlends well Controls shine Covers well Easy to apply Lightweight Doesn't settle into creases Cons Not as finely milled as higher end powdersPowder puff applicator is so so
I use this product regularly to set my foundation, i have it in the corresponding foundation 120 ivory normal to dry skin, which was so easy to find my colour! I agree it sets and smooths as the name suggests, powder puff and mirror i never use but sure it would come in handy for touch ups during the day if needed but i don't find i need it. Leaves skin smooth, soft and not cakey!!! Great product for everyday, even for 30+ age groups.
As a 40+ year old it is often said women of my age should skip powder as it can be aging. I have never found that to be the case and never go a day without using a powder to 'set' my foundation.I have used the Maybelline Fit Me pressed powder over liquid and cream foundations and if applied with a brush (rather than the supplied puff) I am always assured of a beautiful polished finish to my makeup. I also love that once you have ascertained your colour match it is easy to choose other products in the Fit Me! range. I have also added the dewy & smooth foundation and the concealer to my collection and they are now all firm favourites. Well done Maybelline on producing a fabulous range that not only performs beautifully but is very well priced.
I have #120,and #135 and it is so refreshing to find a powder that finally works after trying so many! It is a truly crease-less formula that is soft and silky with a slight luminescence. Love that there are several shades to choose from, I can buy summer and winter colours without issue. The compact is a little bulky because of the flip-up section for the mirror and puff but only a small complaint, a more streamlined design would be preferable. The FitMe range is truly a winner, yet to find a product in the range I don't love.
I always use a powder to set my make-up every day, for setting both my foundation and concealer. I also like topping up my powder occasionally if I get a bit shiny or if my foundation starts to fade throughout the day. This pressed powder compact is great for setting makeup as well as mattifying the skin. It is quite sheer,so it has very light coverage which is perfect for what I want it to do. The last thing i want is to put a heavy powder on top of my full coverage foundation. This feels light on the face and does a great job of making your skin look poreless. Due to it being a light coverage, do not expect it to cover much redness or any imperfections because it doesn't. I personally wouldn't use it on its own as I prefer full coverage on my face, but for someone who just wants to make their face less shiny and smoother, it could definitely be used on its own. There is a slight shimmer to this powder, I don't really notice it or mind at all as it gives it a slightly brighter and illuminating look to my skin, however, I know that some people don't like it so it is worth noting. I have found that it does last for at least 3 hours before it needs topping up, but it does not go flaky, dry or crack on the skin at all, nor is it patchy. It fades in a natural way which is great. Another downside is that the packaging is not that practical. The powder is in the top compartment and the mirror and puff are underneath in a separate compartment which is not the best design. Also, I tend to apply this powder with a brush and not the puff as I feel I get a light and more even coverage. I would definitely recommend this as a setting powder but not as a full coverage product, I would definitely repurchase.
This is a great powder for touch ups, setting or those who want a more natural look. If you want anything other than light coverage this will disappoint as trying to build this product up looks very cakey. The packaging is a neat little cube that has pressed powder under the clear lid then you can lift that up to reveal a mirror and little puff applicator. I personally find the little puff applicator pretty useless as it falls apart after a few uses and this powder blends better with a kabuki brush. It feels weightless on skin and evens out skin tone quite well and hides blemishes well. I like this as I'm not a fan of heavy makeup as it feels unnatural and pore clogging to me. I have combination skin and find this to be great at keeping oiliness at bay. I don't think it would work well for dryer skin types unless a liquid foundation or BB cream is applied first for hydration. I love that the fitme range is all numbered so once you find your shade match, it's simple to pick from their new products. Great powder at a reasonable price for those wanting an everyday natural look.
There's a lot of hype over Maybelline's liquid Fitme foundation which I want to try at some point but for now I desperately needed pressed powder to keep my t-zones shine free so I decided to spring for the fitme pressed powder. The pressed powder is such a pleasant surprise and I'm now looking forward to discovering other products in the fitme range. The fitme pressed powder is housed in a dark square compact with a see-through cover. Under the pressed powder is a compartment that lifts up to reveal a mirror and a puff applicator. Personally, I don't care for the puff applicator so I've discarded it and use a fluffy brush instead. I apply the pressed power to my t-zones and on my bottom eye lid to soak up oil and shine and even out my skin tone. I usually apply it on top of my foundation to just mattify my shiny areas but sometimes I will wear it on its own for a light coverage and a shine-free look. What I like about this pressed powder is that it soaks up oil and shine without making my skin look overly matte or dry which can look aging. I use a light touch when applying the powder with a fluffy brush and I never built up more than a layer because I know it can look cakey and make my skin feel tight and dry. The powder doesn't settle into pores or fine lines and helps set my foundation and concealer in place instead of melting away on a hot day For a drugstore brand this is a good quality pressed powder. There is a subtle sheen/glitter in the pressed powder but it doesn't translate to the skin. The powder can feel a little grainy but it provides long lasting coverage so the graininess doesn't bother me. The only thing that peeves me about the product is the clunky design of the compact. The plastic packaging feels flimsy and the separate compartments for the pressed powder, mirror and puff is awkward. Things could be a little bit more refined but at the end of the day you are paying for the product and the product works well with my skin. I highly recommend the fitme pressed powder for teens starting to experiment with makeup and for anyone else on a budget or just looking for a decent quality product without the high price tag.Pro Mattes skin without tight or dry feeling Evens out skin tone, Soaks up oils but doesn't clog poresNon irritating Convenient for touch ups on the goFits into purse Con Clunky packaging Puff applicator is unusable
