Great set! Have watched three out of 60 episodes and so far they play great! Sound may be a little wonky in some places, but it is not Walmart's fault in any way. Hopefully the BBC can fix it soon! Still giving it five stars though because it is a great set! Hopefully we get similar sets for Smith, Capaldi, and Whitaker too!

Doctor Who is always good on Blu-ray. DVD is not as good sometimes seems like some of the shows missing.

As a newer collector of Who Blu-Rays, I was pleased to see this set. With numerous Blu-Ray releases from this New Who era, it was hard to keep up with which releases to buy. This release has all the season, but it didn't have this special. That's on another release. Thankfully, with this first volume, all of Christopher Eccleston's only season and all of David Tennant's first Doctor Who run is on this set. Storywise, there are solid modern day Who classics on this set like School Reunion, Dalek, and Voyage of the Damned. Each series has a underlying plot that unfolds through each story of the season that will keep you engaged and make you want to see more. Viewers will be introduced to new companions like Rose Tyler, Captain Jack Harkness, Martha Jones, and Donna Noble and will be reintroduced to classic characters like Sarah Jane Smith and K-9. If one wanted a place to start watching any era of Doctor Who, this set would be a great introduction to the mythos of Doctor Who. Watching the stories in this set may make one want to see more. With Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi, and Jodie Whittaker sets coming in November, this is the perfect place to start watching Doctor Who.

Great addition to my sci fi collection. This is a good start to get into the doctor who series.

Exactly what I was looking for. Great buy.

Series 1-4 were not shot in HD so previous bluray releases were not much better looking than DVDs. This set though received a pretty nice upscale at the studio so these discs look close to true HD quality. When you look at your TV up close, you'll see upscaling artifacts but when sitting at proper distance from your TV the picture looks nice, not quite true HD but WAY better than DVD quality. Packaging is lousy as is usual for these large box sets. What's really pathetic is there isn't any kind of printed listing of what is on each disc. What you will get is every episode and special from series 1-4 during the Eccelston and Tennant years in the late 2000's through early 2010s. Disc quality was mostly good but I did get a few defective discs, Walmart was great in sending a replacement set to rectify the issue.

Doctor Who Series 1-4 are my favorites seasons of the series. 5/5 Since Doctor Who was removed from most streaming services I decided to pick up the collection on blue-ray to have it forever. The discs work great. The only reason why I gave it a 4/5 was because the menu selections are slow and the box does not show a list of what season%26episodes are on what disk. I would have been nice have a list of that.

A classic new era set of Dr Who that encapsulates everything I loved about the series. Good quality, a very fine bundle indeed.
