After googling the comfortable temperature for newborn water, I was able to set this duck to let me know when it went over that temperature and it also tells you if it's too cool Definitely would buy this baby shower gift or a 10 out of 10 would recommend!!

I am always so worried that the bath water is too warm for her sensitive skin and this helps me ensure that she is safe and can enjoy her bath! Its so hard to get the baby bath just luke warm but with this thermometer it works fast. This is a must have item for all babies the fact that it also works out of water and as a play toy it makes it the best ever.

Red light let's you know it's to hot and green light let's you know it's to cool. Keeps your child from getting hot or burned. It does recheck the temperature every 10 seconds

I had to explain to them what it was used for and of course they didn't care they only saw a new toy. I on the other had saw a great way to monitor the tub water and room temperature to keep the babies safe.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This duck thermometer is great. It floats just like a rubber duck and is activated by water. It has the ability to be turned on manually for a room temp with an auto shutoff function to save battery power. I find it is easy to read and it is accurate. I use it for every one of my kids bath as an extra piece of mind. Before this we just used our hand to gauge temp and that works, but this is a much better method. I like that it has the appeal of a toy, but the function of thermometer for assurance and peace of mind. It's water tight and unlike a rubber duck there's really no concern for it growing mold or anything inside of it. What I didn't like was the light that flashes to let you know if it's hot or cold. This is set to preset parameters which they allow you to change. The problem I have is the colors and lack of color when safe. It flashes green when it is too cold and flashes red when it is too warm. There is no indication when it is in the safe range. I would much prefer a three-color indication. Blue=cold, green=safe, and red=too hot. This is the only thing I have found with this device I did not like. Otherwise, I love it and its amazing.

I received the bright yellow duck thermometer with a display screen that is easy to read. I have not noticed any left over water tramped inside it yet which happens slot with my old ones. But be careful of where you place it in a room because the environment it sit on and near will show it temperature. My son loves having the duck at bath time playing with it
