I bought this to file my dog's nails down. My dogs have black nails so I refuse to cut them with traditional clippers. My dogs sit so still while using it and it is fun to work with, it's small enough to manouver around but powerful enough for my dogs thick nails. The only downside is that the dust flies everywhere and any chunks you file off can fly at your face, so wear safety goggles and a dust mask while using this
I bought this for small projects around the house and dog nail care. If your dog is not nervous around the whine it is ok but my pug would not hold still for it. To be fair, he is very sensitive about his feet anyway. For light duty work it is extremely good and about 1/2 the price of the 7.2V I had prior to this
Has plenty of power and I love having 2 settings..stays charged for longer than it says..I use the lower speed for my dogs toenails ..I only take a small amount of nail off at a time because it's easy to file to much and hit the quick which is like cutting off the end of your finger and is very painful for them.. So if you decide to try to use this for that take it easy and only take off a small amount at a time..
I bought this dremel for filing my dogs nails. A groomer had used one on my dog, and it was the first time she didn't fight it., so the groomer told me where she got hers. The dremel is not loud, and it provides a gentle filing. My dog sat still the entire time, when she normally won't let me anywhere near her paws. I am so happy to have come across this, and it cost me what I would have paid a groomer to trim my dogs nails one time. It's already paid for itself. Highly recommend!
Purchased to trim my 2 dogs' nails, they are 40 lbs each so needed a better tool than the PediPxxx that I tried. This on is not too loud, does a nice job quickly, just be sure to only hold for a few seconds then move onto another nail as they will heat up. With MiniMite I can trim short, smooth out the edges so they are not jaggered like with clippers. Well worth the money, and there were extra sanding discs included. This is much cheaper than the other brand I was using.
Gently grinds down dog's nails with a minimum amount of noise. Some of these tools are loud and make the dog uncomfortable and difficult to keep still for grooming. This one makes it much easier. Also, there's no unwieldy cord to deal with. Would highly recommend this tool for many uses, but we particularly purchased it for this purpose. It recharges fairly quickly, as well.
I purchased this Dremel to make it easier to trim my dogs nails works great, battery life was plenty long, lite, quiet and with the high low speeds it made nail trimming, quick and easy.
I have always loved dremel tools, they work rather well for many surfaces. However, this is definitely the mini version, more durable for those smaller jobs. It is not going to accomplish all of the things that the full size dremel will do but for those smaller jobs it would be a good addition to any home. I do wish I had spent the extra money and gotten the full size one. For the price and as a gift, it is a nice purchase.
I love to use this tool for nail grinding dog's nails. They sell the same Dremel in pet stores(Only difference being there is a paw print on the front), but it is significantly more expensive. Works fast and efficiently. My one complaint about it is that the switch wears out and you have to toggle it to make it turn on, but this is probably due to consistant every day use!
This is one of the least expensive tools in the Dremel line. The battery life is relatively short but charges back up quickly. I would have liked the motor to have a little more power.
