My son received this Drift Trike for Christmas 2020. He is 6 years old , 47 1/2" tall , and 50 lbs. Assembley: SEAT- There are 3 distance options for kids of various height. He fits the Trike well with the seat positioned closest to the handle bars. 4 bolts with nuts are used to secure the seat to the frame. The only thing I found fustrating during assembly was the tightening the four nut and bolts of the seat. The wrench given doesn't fit well on the underside of the seat plate that is attached to the frame (do to its 90 degree bends). I recommend you have a pair of channel locks on hand rather than the supplied wrench to secure the nut in place while tightening the allen key screw.s In addition, don't fully commit to tightening all 4 bolts of the seat until you test out the seat distance to the pedals with your child. NECK- There are two allen bolts located at the neck that are pre assembled/tightened. I recommend you give these 2 bolts a good tightening as the handle bars will keep shifting either to the left or to the right if not tightened well.... Be careful not to strip them. Overall, a nice looking, well built product. My son gets better operating it with each use. He is very happy and enjoys the Trike. I would love to get myself an adult size Trike to ride along with him as well. Now we gotta go find some rad hills.....
Purchased as a birthday gift for my 10 year old whom is 4'5 and weighs 100lbs. She has tourettes and is terrified of a regular bike so I thought she would be more comfortable with this. She is slightly too big, but it'll work for now. It was really easy to put together. Directions were easy yo follow and I had it together in less than an hour. It seems like it'll hold up! She loves it!
This Trike is the way to go if your 5 year old is like my grandson, he cant get enough of the drifting, he can peddle it rather fast too, matter of fact way faster then I expected. Seat is adjustable so he can grow with it, the rear tires are replaceable and the front is a tube tire so its replaceable also. Assembly is easy, comes with all the tools needed to assemble, but! with that said, I suggest using real tools to get the job done right, only took me 10 minutes to assemble. It was shipped in a secure box so there was no damage which I like because who don't like putting that first scratch on it themselves, right? So yeah I recommend this if your looking to put a smile on a kids face, look no further. One last thing I also recommend the kids wear a helmet and safety gear, let me be quite clear,....this trike moves along quite fast and when they spin (drift) it slides (drifts)pretty quick so there's a fair chance they could at some point crash this thing, (grandson has already) just like on a bike. But don't let that stop you from purchasing this trike, just get them safety gear with it and they will be fine. Ride on bros!!
Shopping online is hard. I spent a LOT of time debating on different drift trikes for my boys big gift for his 8th birthday. I didn’t want something too big but also not something he would outgrow too quickly. I am SOO happy with this one! It was a little confusing to get out together, likely operator error but once assembled it has been great!! I’m 5’4 and about 125lb and I can also fit on it!! Relatively lightweight so I can carry it up and down our apartment stairs as needed. Really cool bike! You can really whip this thing around
THIS THING IS GNARLY! Purchased it for our 5yr old son for Christmas this year, and it was super easy to assemble- took my hubby about 45 minutes (albeit we were watching Netflix and wrapping). This is the coolest trike I’ve seen! Very sturdy and she’s got some weight to her!! No joke, I rode it through the house- and I’m 5’7”—220lbs. SO MUCH FUN! I can’t wait for our little guy to see it Friday morning! Thanks MaddGear!
A great alternative for a traditional bike for youth with limited balance, strength and coordination abilities. We bought this for our granddaughter who is 7 with a range of mobility abilities. She is terrified of a regular bike even with training wheels. The very first day she rode this she was extremely extatic and wants to ride it every day. She even learn to do a 180 and gave it a special name. She wanted a different flag so we got her one that says Pirate Princess and she absolutely loves it. It has restored her confidence and she is able to ride with her little brother who is 6 and is riding a 20 inch bike. This was the best thing we have ever purchased for her.
We had been looking for a trike for our son for a few months. He loved his big wheel but had outgrown it, and still wanted something similar to play on outside. After much research, we chose this one. We are so glad we did. He loves it and the drifting is so much fun for him. Just know that assembly took several hours. Additionally, there are parts, i.e. handlebars and pedals, that while not included in assembly instructions, must be tightened or they will not turn the trike or pedal correctly. The brakes are great quality but very difficult to get adjusted correctly in assembly. Other than that, we al all extremely thrilled with the purchase.
I bought this trike for my special needs daughter and she loves it. It is easy for her to peddle, steer, and stop. The bright green color is also fun. It was a little difficult to put together as some of the pre-assembled pieces have to be unscrewed, which was a pain. Then they were difficult to put back together (handlebar). It does seem really durable, so hoping it will last because the cost is not cheap. Overall, I would recommend.
We bought this for our 6yr old's birthday. He loves it! It worked great, but it wasn't long before the brake broke. My husband was able to repair it, but then not long after, it broke again. Fun toy though.
For the high price of $179, the rear wheels should be rubber not plastic.
