I bought it to print simple labels, nothing fancy. After playing with it for a few minutes, I figured out how to print what I wanted, and it does it well. It took me longer to figure out how to take the backing off of the label than it did to figure out how to print it.
Exactly what I need and automatically came with 1 ribbon of white tape. I needed a label maker for my elderly mom’s pill box since the ink has rubbed off. The large font works best, and I just had to trim down the sides of the printed tape to fit the days of the week. I’ll probably buy the clear tape for next time, but it did the job I needed it for. Definitely would recommend.
I use this Dymo LetraTag label maker 100H often. In the past, I used the "press to get an image on the plastic tape" kind, but a friend had one of these she let me borrow. This was my first experience with a printer type label maker. It was easy and intuitive to use, except the method I was shown to get the tape off the back was difficult, requiring a knife or thin blade slid between the label and backing. But, wow, what a difference in ease of use and professional appearance. I had to have one of these of my own. When mine came in and I read the instructions, I learned the backing was in two parts, and you squeezed the end slightly to get them to separate. So easy once the trick is known. A few came with the tape totally inside the carrier with no end sticking out, so they didn't work. Instructions online said gently pry the top from the bottom of the carrier, going all the way around, using a thin knife, feed the tape through the opening, then pop the two halves back together. So easy, fixed in seconds with absolutely no damage.
Had the original Dyno Labeler for years. Got great use before I wore it out. I'm enjoying the replacement Dyno labeler. I love labeling my personal items since I do a lot of volunteer work with USO, Kiwanis, Key Club and schools. I label my personal items like eyeglasses, sunglasses, eyeglass cases, water bottles, coffee cups, books, cell phone, craft bags I take along. I hate losing my personal items. Tapes and batteries are easy to install. Prints clearly,
These label makers are a great product for those who understand the need for labels. One comment about after the label is printed. I found removing the label from the backing is quite arduous, even with the help of tape. Hopefully, duct tape will solve this issue. So a lower rating for the ease of use was given. A bit off target comment - the raised print [black background with raised white lettering] has a cutter that leaves a small tab to make removing tape from the backing very easy. But, I didnt like the look/style.
this is the third one in my 74 years that I've purchased. the first two endured 6 children who labeled everything even the dog. often left in toy chests along with their toys. I would say above average quality. lol. now that their grown and on their own I am assured this last one will carry me the rest of my life.
I've had one of these in the past actually I've had several they're very dependable they last a long time They're a little quirky to get under understood and learn how to work them real fast but they're worth the money I highly recommend this label maker without any hesitation whatsoever!
I used my first one a lot in the first year. Then it jammed. There's nothing there! I tried everything, searching the internet to troubleshoot the error message and couldn't resolve the problem. In the trash it went and I bought another one. That shouldn't happen. I guess nothing is made to last anymore.
Printing labels is simple and they're very legible. The size of the labels is good. The reason for 3 stars is that the label tape adhesive is very weak and comes off way too easily. Due to this adhesive flaw it's almost pointless. I have to use clear tape over the labels to get them to stick. Perhaps there's a third party tape that will work better. Also use rechargeable batteries because the batteries die quickly even if you're good about turning the machine off.
never got to use it because after thinking my batteries were bad and buying new ones, I couldn't get it to turn on. Unfortunately I will be returning. 1 cartridge is included, batteries are not.
