Eagle Claw Trout Net

The wood frame is kind of light, but I don't plan on landing any monster fish in a net with a 15" opening. The netting is nylon and looks like it should hold up really well. You can buy a better net, but you will pay at least triple the price of this one.

This net does what it's supposed to do.

The wooden frame is very lightly constructed, but otherwise OK. The net itself, however, is not woven nylon mesh, but a very flimsy mesh-like fabric that appears to be cotton. I didn't have high expectations for a $15 net, but I expected a bit more than what I ultimately received. Fortunately, it was intended as a "loaner" for a one-day fishing club outing with some college students, so if it lasts the day, I'll be happy. I'll look into getting some replacement woven netting to replace what came with it after the trip. For just a few dollars more, you can buy a much nicer product elsewhere.

Looks great but the fabric mesh netting is horrible. May just be me but I landed several trout with the net and about half the time I pulled the fish up it would thrash around and the spinner hooks would get lodged into the netting. It was so frustrating to try to get the hook out of the fabric after I caught a fish. I broke the hook off one spinner and had to cut a couple other spinners out of the net. Ultimately tossed it as it wasn't worth the aggravation.
