It is good to have A good surprise when it is A present, I am getting ready to teach my Grandson how to Fly Fish, Something that I once did frequently, but I didn't know if he would enjoy it So I purchased this combo not knowing what to expect, for the price I think who ever put it together did A Great Job.

Bought this for my son who is moving to Idaho and will be less than 2 miles form Snake River. He expressed and interest in Fly Fishing . . . thought this kit might give him a start to see if he wants a new hobby!

Fly Fishing Rod and Reel were in great shape when the product was delivered. However, the zipper slider body on the carrying case broke in pieces when i first opened the case. I did not return it because I was planning on using the Rod and Reel the next day and could not wait for a replacement.

The rod itself is not awful. The reel is kind of junk. I bought this to try out fly fishing and bought a whole different rod and reel a week after buying this combo.

Misrepresentation. The rod weight, which is critical for choosing line weight, isn't on the rod. Instead of giving you a sufficient spool of backing line (of which you get none) or a spool of fly line, you'll get 15 yards, yeah…really, 15 yards! That's about like 30 yards less than you need. The rod is tolerable but the reel is straight out of the clearance isle at toys r us. The so called carrying case might just as well be tossed out with the other plastic baggies this comes with. Just save your money and get something worth bothering with.
