Allspice makes the relish a huge success
The recipe I was making called for whole allspice. berries, I had ground allspice but not the whole berries. I was making a relish that I had made many moons ago and it required whole berries. When I received the delivery and opened the jar the aroma was warm and hearty. I immediately thought of the holidays. Needless to say the Allspice berries did the trick. The relish is such a hit that people are opening the jars to eat it straight, no burger, hot dog, or steak I am excited for the fall and winter holidays to come, I will grind the berries fresh with every recipe which will enhance the flavor with the freshly ground spice.
