I always have stuck with the same soy in the lil jar with red cap . WELL.....this dark SOY is a whole new experience ....VERY strong dark soy and what a great TASTE ......i ordered 2 and glad i did cause the first one is almost gone ...IT DOES not take much ....but you will see a big taste difference ....also keep the light soy on hand .. can mix a lil of both for a super taste also...

It is imported from Heinz China (thus not loaded with Corn Syrup or in a watered-down big bottle like the American brands). I love this soy sauce, the flavor is perfect! Japanese Yamasa soy sauce is my usual brand of choice, due to the cost I no longer can afford it. I am really pleased with Heinz brand it has unique flavor. Thank you!

I had never heard of this until a couple of days ago when a stir fry recipe called for this as an ingredient. It is wonderful. I love the salty, molasses taste. I used it yesterday to make some steak soup to enhance the flavor of the broth.

I've heard the term "umami bomb" thrown around a lot on food shows. This stuff finally gave me that "Ohhh, okaay!!" lightbulb moment. Rich, meat-y flavor, and slightly thicker than typical soy sauce. 100% recommend, and will def buy again.

I bought this Heinz Premium Dark Soy Sauce because I've been trying new recipes that call for this product. It gives my dishes the full rich color and flavor the dishes recipes call for.

extremely salty more than 2x the salt of other dark soy sauces. Because of this I cannot recommend it for Chinese cooking recipes. it's cheap but I won't but it again. Don't buy it thinking you are trying dark soy sauce, it's not traditional.

In the fine print on the side is the warning "consuming this product can expose you to chemicals including lead." I have never seen this on any other soy sauce. Dark soy sauce is mostly just longer fermented soy sauce mixed with brown sugar, so it stands to reason it must be one of the less necessary ingredients such as the food color they've added completely unnecessarily. It is probably not elemental lead, so perhaps not so dangerous as the warning implies, but at the same time, why add an unnecessary thing that requires such a warning if it is unnecessary? No one buys these things for their appearance, we buy these things for taste. This also has even more salt than normal. It's already a bit too much in normal soy sauce (remember, you can always add more salt to whatever you're cooking, but you can't subtract it) but this has even more than normal. It's 50% of your daily value per tablespoon just from this alone -- let alone whatever is in your meal itself -- and that's just for one meal. You'll probably use less than a tablespoon and some of it may cook out if it's applied during cooking, but you're still getting even more than normal here.

First time I've ever tried this type of soy sauce as it was called for an a recipe. I thought it tasted terrible, almost like fish oil or something.
