Had to charge them when I received them. They are in a light I use for emergency. After charge they have kept the light on for 8 1/2 hours so far and that pleases me. I was worried because they are not 1.5 volts, but light is bright and will give more than enough light in emergency. Curious how long it keeps shining!

These cells have a good amount of heft, weighing about the same as alkaline D cells. This indicates that the 10,000 mAh rating is realistic given that they're fully packed with plates. I've seen some fake rechargeable D cells that weigh next to nothing, like a AA cell inside a D shell. These EBL D cells are the real deal. I'm using these in Ring Spotlights. Each one uses 4x D cells. They have motion detectors and communicate to the bridge for remote access and notifications. I expect the Ring Spotlights to go through batteries quickly. UPDATE: After 6 months use in the Ring Spotlights, the cells were still going strong and could probably go another 6 months. The voltage curve on rechargeables is different than alkaline, causing the Spotlight firmware and Ring app to miscalculate the remaining % battery life.

These batteries are awesome. I bought these to use in a led lantern because of the high price of throw away batteries. They charge in a couple of hours but the best part is that they last longer in a lantern, which is a pretty high drain device, than the name brand batteries I was using and throwing away. Already have paid for their self after two charges. This is the best brand of rechargeable batteries I have found so far. Bought the C batteries too and they are just as good. Great product. I recommend to everyone.

Using them in my new Eton Field Radio. Huge improvement over earlier rechargeable batteries! Been in for a couple of days now (radio stays on for most of the day), shows no signs on bat. meter of drain yet ! Original radio + bats. would only last 3 or 4 hrs. Haven't had long enough for opinion on longevity.

I use 24 of these in various combinations of 2, 4 and 8 to power an "electronically upgraded" 176 year-old grandfather clock. I re-charge them, as required, with an EBL-906 charger. Works great. Much less work on the clock (always winding, setting, adjusting, cleaning, oiling, changing for Daylight "Savings" Time, etc.). Visitors don't even notice it's an "electronic" clock, it keeps perfect time and looks (and sounds) authentically great.

Pros: The price! These are some of the lowest cost NIMH D cells I have found that are actually a real D cell and NOT an AA cell inside a shell the size of a D. These would probly be fine for running low power devices. Much cheaper than using disposable D batteries. Cons: Not good for high drain devices. I tested them in my battery analyzer under a 4 amp load and the capacity was only 5,900ma. Under a 6 amp load the capacity was around 4,000ma. The voltage sag was also lower than other cells I have tested. I suppose its possible they could do 10,000ma at a very low drain like 100ma, but I use D cell batteries in upgraded Maglites so for me this cell wont cut it.
