My air isn't working very well right now but I've been able to keep the house cooler with a portable a/c, a fan and these curtains. They are amazing at helping keep the heat out. I can definitely tell a difference between before I put them up and after.
I love that these curtains are 100% blackout. The martial is high quality. I accidentally got them bigger than I needed it.I was able to adjust the length which was easy to do. The martial didn't loosen and isn't noticeable that I made the adjustments.
The Ecologee Wakefield Textured 100% Blackout Rod Pocket Curtain Panel Pair is a solid option if you want true room darkening at a budget price. The fabric has a textured finish that looks nicer than basic blackout curtains, and the gold color adds a warm, decorative touch instead of a flat look. In terms of performance, the blackout effect is strong when the panels are properly sized and installed. They do a good job blocking outside light and help noticeably with room darkness and temperature control. The thermal insulation also adds a slight benefit for keeping heat and light out. The rod pocket design makes installation simple, but it can limit how smoothly the curtains slide compared to grommet styles. The material feels lightweight but still structured enough to hang evenly. One important thing to note is that like most blackout curtains, effectiveness depends heavily on coverage. If there are gaps at the sides or top, some light will still get through, so proper width and placement matter. Overall, these are a good value choice if you want effective blackout performance with a more decorative look. They work best when correctly sized and installed for full coverage.
I have bought several blackout curtains in the past and these are the first true black out ones. We love them and will be buying more for other bedrooms.
These are better than I expected. The material is very good quality. The backing is smooth and sturdy. They're fantastic blackout curtains that look very classy and can go with a big variety of settings. I have them in my living room. I plan to purchase for my bedroom to replace the other curtains. Soooo yes I highly recommend you buy these.
these are very thick and block nearly all the light. gorgeous color. love these so much im putting them in several rooms.
Bought these curtains for my living room. Loved them so much went back for three more sets for my bedroom.
these curtains are very nice, sturdy, perfect blackout privacy. They seem to be holding up to my kitten destruction which is why I had to replace my old curtains. Only reason for 4 stars not 5 they were a bear to get the wrinkles and creases out. i had to use a steam iron and really work at it. Now they are installed, i am very pleased.
these curtains definitely block light way better than most blackout curtains. the problem is that they attract heat like nothing i've ever seen before, or rather felt. these curtains are HOT to the touch, you can feel heat radiating off of them. it's great for warming a room in winter but i am DREADING summer. that dark backing is not only hideous on the outside but it's attracting and trapping too much heat from the sun. fatal flaw; these curtains will be useless in the summer. making them with same color on both sides or lighter colored backing would be a huge improvement. another minor con is they come extremely creased and wrinkled and it's not easy to fix.
The only reason why I am not recommended these curtains is they're good for blacking out the Sun but don't put them in a window that the Sun beats on at the hottest part of the day. Those curtains were generating so much heat that I could feel the heat on the wall and on the floor below the window. Living in a hot state with extreme sun beating in the windows this is definitely not a good pair of curtains to have. The quality is actually really good it's just that the backing is black and that is what is a generating so much heat from the Sun. In the winter it would be really nice definitely not in the summer. Like most things too much of a hassle to take back and I got them on clearance so I probably wouldn't be able to return them. I'll just find somewhere else to use them.
