The kids loved these! I had no idea they could be so easily entertained! They made up games and even got our cat involved. These will take interaction with a parent when used as a learning tool. Each beanbag has an upper and lower case letter on it. There is only one bean bag of each letter. Having a few of each of the popular letters would be nice so the kids could spell out words with them. They are easy to grasp for the little kids. Our 8 month old grandson played with them also. It does come with a 7 game suggestion guide but the kids made up their own games. The only way to make this better is to have a few duplicate letters.
For child gift giving, I like to give toys that are both fun and educational. Alphabet Beanbags is just such a toy. It comes with 26 beanbags with the capital letter on one side and lower case on the other. Even the vowels and consonants are color coded to distinguish the difference. There is even a larger bag to put all of the beanbags in for easy storage and travel. It says that it is for pre-kindergarten or 3 and older. It comes with several ways to use the alphabet beanbags as a game. It is made by Educational Insights who manufactures many many games for children and offers a refund within 365 days of your purchase if their game stops working or is "not what you thought it would be". That's a pretty bold guarantee!
These alphabet bean bags are a fun educational toy that kids will love playing with. They are a smallish size but that makes them perfect for little ones hands to manipulate them. It is nice that there are upper and lower case letters on each beanbag. Also the colored vowels and consonants are a great learning tool. This will provide a fun and educational experience which is a huge bonus for a toy!
The Alphabet Bean Bags are a great and fun way to learn! I can think of so many ways to use them with my kids. You can create games with them, work on spelling and vocabulary, get familiar with the alphabet, and come up with tons of other ways to teach. The draw string bag it comes with allows for easy clean up. The colors are bright which, makes the letters easy to see. Cool educational fun! There are capital letters on one side and lowercase letters on the other side. The picture on the website gives the illusion that the bean bags are bigger than what they are but they are still a good size and weight. These alphabet bean bags would be cool to use well up to age 10. The Alphabet bean bags offer hands on learning. Kids can learn to recognize the difference between capital and lowercase letters, practice spelling words, get familiar with vowels and consonants, learn to connect letters to make sounds and use them for lots of other fun ways to expand vocabulary. It's fantastic seeing my little girl expand with vocabulary and I love that we can interact with each other while learning.
I like the bean bags. I hGood but miss leading ave only had them a short time so not sure about durability. I was disappointed that the letters are painted/printed on. The description says - “Each of the 26 bean bags is embroidered with a color-coded uppercase letter on one side and a lowercase letter on the other. “ I was expecting embroidered letters.
I love the letters. I love the brightness and shape and feel of them, that they have an uppercase and lowercase letter on each bean bag. The stitching of the vowels are red and consonants are blue on the yellow background. GREAT for learning the alphabet. But I want more letters, what child is not going to want to spell with these letters? You're limited unless you buy several sets, spell small words or words with all different letters or only one or two vowels or only have one child playing at one time. Need to have more vowels and the popular consonants. But other than the number of bean bags, the bags have been fun to play with and to spell out words. And keep in mind your age group, they letters are very easily thrown, but are lightweight and do not cause much damage. I'm sure that at some point I'll have to test the washability of the letters, but the letters are stitched into the materials so I don't see a problem with gently washing the bags with mild soap and water.
The Alphabet Beanbags by Educational Insights are a great fun learning toy for the 3+ targeted age group. Each beanbag is small enough to for those little ones' small hands. It's good to show both cases to the learning child as each beanbag has an uppercase letter on one side and the corresponding lowercase letter on the other side. The storage bag is nice for travel as well as storage when the beanbags are not in use. At first a child is not going to distinguish between vowels and consonants, but as they progress with the alphabet and the beanbags the color differentiation of red vowels and blue consonants will be a helpful teaching aid. While I feel certain over time we will create more learning games on our own, it's very helpful initially to have the included suggestion sheet of learning games. It's been fun using this with my nephew so far just to have him point and recognize some of the letters as I first mention their names. Certainly this is a nice 3-D alphabet learning tool and toy to use in conjunction with those first alphabet learning books. The beanbags make the learning more fun for very small children than trying to use paper or flash cards at that age.
This was an enjoyable set to add to our homeschool collection. I like the bright, yellow color of the bag. I also loved the fact that the letters are embroidered or sewn on as opposed to being printed or iron-on. This will help the letters to last much longer, and thereby giving us much more value for what we've paid. The set is pretty basic. It's each letter of the alphabet (upper and lower case). I'm able to teach my younger as well as my older children with this collection because both upper and lower case letters are included. The set comes with a few game suggestions which is great. It would be helpful if the games were labeled with suggested ages groups. It would also be good if the manufacturer had more activity and game ideas on their website. This just gives us more ways to enjoy the beanbag set. I do have one suggestion however. I would love to have included in this set of beanbags some cleaning instructions. The color of the beanbags is awesome. But this bright color also leaves the beanbags venerable to getting dirty quickly. A quick easy way to keep the beanbags looking clean and fresh would be so helpful.
My bf's nephew had two children eight years apart. I knew they would have plenty of downtime this winter so I got stuff like this so they could play together. The little boy let the little girl open them at the party then carefully packed them away in the included bag and put them up cause he wanted all the pieces to make it home. I think that means he liked them. I also got them fun number spiders and a wall easel to make easier for him to invent games to play with her. I like creative toys that use imagination with no rules till you make them up yourself so I'm very glad he understood and liked the idea:)
Conceptually, these are a great idea. Bean bags and games to help children learn their A, B, Cs as well as the differences between the upper case and lower case letters. There are several game ideas that come with the box, and there are ways to utilize them in other creative ways too. There are 26 miniature bean bags that come with the package as well as a drawstring bag. The bean bags were definitely smaller than I had envisioned. I was expecting large bean bags similar to a corn hole toss type of game, but if you look at the picture attached with this review, they are only approximately an 1.5 to 2 inches square (see a standard sized pen for reference). In addition, even though the letters are embroidered onto the bags, there may only be one layer of thread on the embroidery. The “beans” inside each bag feels as if they're surrounded by tissue paper, so they make a crackly noise rather than a simple bean bag feel. Finally, there are no distinguishing lines to tell certain letters apart (e.g N and Z). However, all in all, this is a simple product that can help teach children their alphabets, so this is a good educational / learning tool.
