THE EMERSON smartest 15W Wireless Ultra Fast Charging Dual Alarm Radio with Bluetooth Speaker, USB Charger, Night Light is a wonderful unit. It does everything except make breakfast!!
The only reasons I give 4 (instead of 5)stars is because there were some issues. 1 issue is when I tried to plug in the USB adapter to charge something , the clock no longer showed, %26 it apparently turned the power off. I don't know if this is glitch, but it ‘s an issue, %26 tried more than once.. I only other issue with this otherwise great alarm clock, radio, %26 wireless charging station, bid that — which Is that the wireless charging Is sometimes it's hard to get my phone to connect %26 charge. I've tried even with protective cases off, tried many positions, but it's still is a little bit of a problem. However, I think this is a great clock/radio with 2 alarms, %26 other features that make it a good buy. This 1 was on sale, so imaybe they were facing some possible glitches; I don't know. But, if you can get your phone to be in the right place, (%26 it is somewhat specific and tricky) it's a great alarm radio, Bluetooth, device, speaker, %26 charging station. If the clock had a USB connection that functioned for me, as it said on the webpage/manual. I'd like to have given 5 stars. I went back-and-forth Between, how many stars to give it, %26 would give it 4.5 stars if possible, I really like Emerson clock/radios—they're 1 of the only for a clock/ radio I know about that seems very well made.-especially for the price! It was a little tricky to figure out in the beginning, but once I did it seemed simple, how to set the date time alarms turn the radio on and off, etc.. It also comes with an antenna. That is something you could put in a place that isn't noticeable because it isn't one that sticks up, and the FM reception is great. You can adjust the volume, but if you' want a lot of different colors , this may not be the clock for you. The clock is White %26 Black with green back lighting. it's bright enough for me. And I don't mind the colors. But if you like to have different colors or choose your colors, you may want to look at another alarm clock. However, when I looked at similar radios, Emerson was selling , but if you wanted more options, it was about 2x the price of this 2, which I think is a great buy,
Set up is a little tedious because many functions behave in slightly odd, if not unexpected, ways. For example, initially setting time is automatic, but is a couple minutes off (as compared to, say for example, an Apple watch). That's OK, but it is not intuitive as to how to adjust the minutes. Other similar anomolies, but overall a pleasantly surprising product. I do miss the missing AM radio band, but more AM stations are simulcasting on FM.
Easy to set and use. Best possible reception with THIS is likely if antenna wire is near enough to the best practical window, probably. Just wish it had an AM band. You need to triple the time you spend setting presets if you set for 7 stations, quadruple it if for 5. OR you have to press the Memory button thru UNused settings 2/3 to 3/4 of the time spent pressing it, resp.. May well wear out that button sooner. 10-12 presets available for FM would suffice. But that's Emerson's call. Attractive, incl. the cyan vicinity illumination if desired.
What I liked: - Adjustable brightness - QI Wireless charging (15W) - Bluetooth connectivity for streaming audio - compact size - night light availability - display is easy to view - easy to set up and operate What I didn't like - Audio quality is average at best - Backup button battery (CR2032) arrived dead and drained due to lack of an isolator to isolate the battery from the clock radio during transportation. Not sure if this is an oversight by the manufacturer or maybe my radio was a store return and someone had removed the isolator previously, but I ended up having to spend money to replace the backup button battery. Overall: a decent budget clock radio that does everything (alarm, FM radio, QI wireless charging, wired charging. night light), but as with a budget friendly price, something had to be sacrificed, which is the quality of the audio which is average at best.
I like how the backup battery works, with previous alarm clocks I would have to input the correct time when the power went out even with a 9 Volt battery. I also like how the face automatically dims according to the light in the room. The wireless charger and USB port are handy and the radio for the alarm clock is nice to wake up to. The only thing I don't like about this clock is when a phone is charging wirelessly the light indicating wireless charging is in use that doesn't adjust with the interface it blinks really bright when charging a phone wirelessly.
I love this Bluetooth radio the sound is ok and the only problem was the back up battery which is a 2032 quarter size battery was dead but I put one in and it's great !!!
Serves the purpose. Confusing operation for settings. Bluetooth speaker turns off when I put my phone on top to charge. It came with a dead back up battery. I had to change it day 1.
I bought this mainly for the fast wireless charging, and because I have an older version of this clock radio that doesn't have the wireless charging. When it came, the back of battery was almost dead, and I had to replace it, I had to manually set the clock, which, fortunately I'm pretty techy so I was able to figure that out, but my older one set itself if you unplug it and then plug it back in, this one does not. Also, when the phone is on the wireless charger charging the little icon that let you know it's charging blinks all night long.
I bought this so I could fall asleep while listening to music, but the problem is, it has a static noice when I have my phone plugged in to charge. So it's either or. I can't do both at the same time.
