It's an impact device in a pen size, perfect for a room, to have in the car or in the nightstand or desktop. The black light is not powerful but it's enough to find a scorpion up to 7ft distant. Batteries are included and you don't need to recharge. In case of long blackout you just need to have a pack of batteries in your storage to not be in darkness.
The information on the web page is correct. The white light is very bright, and the UV light is soft and subtle. My only complaint is the soft push on/off piece is hard to use, but I am elderly and do not have much strength in my fingers. Eventually I get it to work. I like to keep a small pen light on the fireplace mantel so I can see to adjust the gas heater knob.
I like how compact it is and it seems to be a pretty solid little flashlight and a lot brighter than I expected for how small it is. I'm very happy with this compact flash light
I really like how simple it is. 2 modes. Led light and then the uv light. i cant stand qhwn i flashlight has 6 modes and you normally have to cycle through them. Both modes are solid.
The regular light is bright %26 decent for walking around, but has a weird yellowish cast up close. The UV light is not very strong. For the purpose I wanted, detecting fluorescence on rocks, it is decent %26 handy to carry in purse or pocket. Original batteries are still going after several hours of use in total since I got it. Having to turn on the regular light to get to the UV is minorly annoying.
The light - when first turned on - got extremely hot! Yes, it was bright and yes, eventually it stopped being red hot, but despite the brightness, there is a yellow halo around the white light - this makes viewing objects difficult as the “2” lights in just the ‘white light’ was distracting. I am not sure why there is a halo, and there was no indication on the package stating the additional lumen. The other light was fine. It’s a penlight. Works but not interested in purchasing again.
Great size and feels pretty sturdy. I got this because I needed a light light for my purse, not rechargeable, and to be able to detect pet urine. I get home after dark and so I've always carried a flashlight. I don't get rechargeable because I tend to forget about recharging it. Several in our home flashlights are rechargeable so we aren't against the idea. I have rescued pets, and at night I need to be able to see if they have peed on the tile floor or if the pee pads are soiled so I can clean up. During the day I can see well but at night I am having a hard time seeing if they accidentally pee off the pad or if I need to change it. I am very disappointed that this light doesn't' detect pet urine at all. Last night my pups, as if on cue, gave me two areas to test and both failed. I will keep it as a purse light because it works great for that, but I won't buy a 2nd one for the house. Now on their site's pictures it does state in small letters that "results may vary by use and environment" I say if you are going to market a light as able to detect urine and so on, then it should. Back to the drawing board.
While the white flashlight is good. The UV even in pitch black room has to be a inch from item to be of any use . Definitely not worth $10. I bought a stronger flashlight in the camping section for $1.
I work with this flash light every day and I never know if it will turn on or not I’ve changed batteries made sure all connections are tight. Sometimes the only way to get it to turn on is to hit it on something
weak purple light %26 didn't work. just a regular flashlight.
