Environmental Technology Easycast Kit, 16oz. Epoxy Adhesives

This is honestly a great product. If you're looking to cast resin gems that are transparent, this is probably the best option to go with. I looked around and Walmart definitely had the best price, and they were great with shipping! Mine arrived in just 2 days. I'm using mine to create half-sphere gems (I'm a cosplayer), and the gems have turned out wonderfully. Definitely recommended!

i bought this product because i couldn't find a clear casting resin anywhere locally. its two 8oz bottles. i used a plastic dixie cup and SLOWLY very slowly mixed it for 3 minutes and SLOWLY poured it into my molds. after 24 hours perfectly clear and hard as stone.

I have used this in the past and it was quite strong smelling so I was surprised it was low odor. There is a smell but it's not overbearing. If you are using this for the first time, make sure you get the disposal measuring cups so that you accurately mix it. Also have a place prepared in advance to place the items in a dust free environment or cover them to keep air particles from settling on your project. I use the picnic mesh dome covers or plate covers. The best thing about this product is you can practically make anything. I'm working on glass looking knobs for my dresser.

Really like the way it works except that the drying time is a bit long so don't expect it to dry for a while, 72 or a bit less hours to a big amount to dry I expect it would be less id it is a very small area or thinkness

first time I had ever worked with this kind of product and it was fairly easy to use

First of all I was sorely disappointed that it advertised 16 oz. of epoxy. In that, I expected each bottle to contain that volume, which they didn't and it makes me very angry at the way people sell items. Aside that, The product worked very well, the dry and set times are pretty long, but the finish works great. I woodwork and I used the product to fill open holes in a wooden tabletop, creating a clear "window" into the wood below. The outcome was stunning and after all was done the table looks fantastic. The epoxy is 1:1 so any sort of measuring container will do. It is hard to calculate the volume of a hole particularly one that has no set sides. I wasted a lot because of this. I personally found that using the discarded cups from Nyquil for the most part works well. The small volumes are perfect and limit the waste I had. Once done with your container, mixing and pouring, you can simply wipe the entire inside of it out with a paper towel and reuse the measure cups. I found I had to sand a lot of the boards, if this is the case you need to smooth the epoxy, it is fairly easy to bring back to clear shine. Sand it at 80-220g then again with 1000-2000g and you have a glass clear finish. Overall I am pleased with the product, except for cost, volume and set time the epoxy is great.

As always, you get what you pay for in this case. I say this positively here. There are far cheaper resins but they have more bubbles, can smell bad (even when dry) and cure too quickly. It does everything the bottle claims. The slow cure time does not seem to be hindered by weather. Be careful, when the resin is thin it heats up a lot more and cures very quickly. It is better to mix it in a small container where the fluid is as high as it is wide. It takes about two hours to dry enough that you can place things on top of the resin. Before that, everything just sinks. No smell once dry. All resins contain bubbles, this one included. However, in this one the bubbles are a lot smaller and harder to spot. The slow cure time allows the larger ones to come to the surface and escape. If you do not want bubbles in your finished product you probably still want to run this stuff through a vacuum chamber. Thankfully this stuff cures so slowly that you have plenty of time to work with it after pulling it out of the vacuum chamber.

This is 2 times I have ordered this product. I like it. But, the price increase was not good!

I have used EasyCast many times with great results. This batch, however, took 24 hours to become hard and is still tacky at 48 hours. I will be contacting the manufacturer to discuss the issue.
