Equate Advanced Healing Ointment does what it says--it helps heal skin. I use it for dry skin, clearing up milia, and healing scratches and other superficial wounds. It is gentle enough to use as a facial moisturizer and strong enough to work on rough heels. Definitely as good as the name brand.
This ointment is awesome for dry skin patches, cracked heels, hands and great for babies and elderly skin. A small amount goes a long way. I have also used it on dry cracked lips. It is a bit greasy if you use too much, however it leaves your hands feeling soft. For extreme dryness apply moisturizing lotion or cream first then apply a small amount of this. Applying before bedtime helps maximize the effectiveness.
This product is excellent! The way my doctor described it, as she told me to get it is, it's like Vaseline with the water spun out so it doesn't "liquify" like Vaseline does. Of course the one she mentioned was the brand name, Aquaphor. At, this point, I'm well enough educated to look for an Equate version of the product! This works SO well!
I was always buying the expensive stuff! But this here is the expensive stuff without the expensive name! Perfect substitution. FYI..it is the same thing! But cheaper and I feel better. Try it! 🙏💯👍🩵
Only requires a small amount to cover problem area of skin . For me its my shins on both legs ( look like snake skin ) . Old age is often unkind . This product has been working to restore my shins to acceptable condition .
I actually prefer it to the name brand, because it's softer and glides on easily The ointment is so gentle and odor-free...almost hard to believe how much relief it gives, not only to dry skin but also to injured areas that need soothing.
Advanced healing cream is wonderful. This product was recommended by a nurse friend of mine %26 it was just as she described. It is very healing and I use it often.
It works as well as Aquaphor which is also based upon petrolatum. Just like Aquaphor, when used sparingly and rubbed into the skin gently, it disappears without leaving behind a shiny greasy spot like petrolatum would. And the skin is also moisturized and soothed. From side by side comparisons with Aquaphor, I noticed this product seems to have a little bit softer feel to it as if it had more mineral oil in it than Aquaphor. In the tub, Aquaphor remains a bit firmer as if it had more ceresin in it. This means if you dub something into the tub such as a Q-tip or finger, a lot more product will mush up and stick to it, so you have to be a slight bit more careful about how you dip something into the tub of ointment. I cannot tell if it has just as much panthenol as the original, but since it does soothe and seems to promote healing of scratches or moisturizes chapped lips as well as Aquaphor does, I'd say it has enough. I would buy this product again.
I found the Equate formula greasier than the name brand Aquaphor. Funny thing I've been using Equate and it was fine. However this batch was quite different. Less in the jar, not as solid and like I said, greasier. Overall not as effective. I haven't decided if I should buy it one more time in hopes this jar was a fluke.
I use aquaphor regularly, there is no comparison. This product is very thin it must have water added. waste of money i threw it out and purchased my aquaphor.
