Equate Pure Cornstarch Baby Powder with Aloe and Vitamin E, 15 oz

The Walmart Equate brand is usually my go to choice of products. This is a rare dud. I am an adult and I use it to powder areas that get sweaty after I shower. The smell is OK not bad but my problem with this product is it’s consistency. It doesn’t feel like the skin really grabs it and makes your skin smooth, rather it feels gritty like applying sand a question how good this would be used on infants because I sure don’t like the way it feels on me.

Walmart, you need to fire whoever signed off on the change of this baby powder. The scent is horrible and flared my allergies up so bad, I had to take a second shower to get it off my skin. It is super grainy, felt like sand. It honestly feels like talc. I will be returning all the new containers I recently purchased. I will have to find a new powder after years using this specific brand. Stop changing your formulas.

I used to love this baby powder, but then they changed the formula for no good reason and now it smells awful! Stop changing things that don’t need changing! All it does is alienate loyal customers. Fellow Americans, just use cornstarch from the baking aisle and skip this has-been product.

The new scent is extremely unpleasant, like a slightly rancid floral perhaps, hard to describe. And whereas the texture used to be silky smooth, it is now gritty. Why take a good product and make it terrible. I am irritated in body and mind, and am now looking for a new powder.

Why did they change it? I have bought this for years, but they've changed it. It no longer smells like baby powder. The smell it rather off putting to me. It does not feel the same either. It used to feel smooth and silky, now it's kinda chalky and gritty. Better buying Johnson's. Won't be purchasing this again, which is sad because I usually love equate products but they ruined this.

I've purchased this before, but the mostcrecent package I got was aweful. This does not smell like baby powder, but rather like medicated powder (like Gold Bond).I wouldn't want a baby to smell like this. And the lid opens backwards. In the US, we open things counterclockwise and close them clockwise. This package is opposite.

I been getting this powder for over 4 years never had an issue and I got a new bottle back in January 2026 once I open it it smells so gross. I still had some from an other bottle and I knew something was up. Not sure what they changed but it’s gross now and won’t be using this product unless it gets changed back to original without it smelling gross.

The new reviews complaining about the smell and texture are 100 percent accurate. We’ve used the US-made version for years and loved it, but the new bottles made in India have an unbearable odor and gritty texture. In trying to save a few bucks, Walmart has ruined a previously good product (as usual). Back to Johnson %26 Johnson for our household.

The smell is HORRIBLE!! The one I bought in store is identical to this one. Same brand and all so I just ordered this without paying attention…. The one from in store said made in the USA and smells like normal baby powder. This one says it’s from India and it’s much more gritty and the smell…. Oh the smell….. it’s HORRIBLE!!! A very strong perfume like smell

I have bought this for years and it's been a great cheaper alternative to Johnson and Johnson. As many other posters have mentioned, something has changed! I would never put this on a baby. I use this as an adult and it has the texture of ground up corn kernels in dry, gritty dirt. The scent now smells like an old man's cheap after shave bought at a dollar store, or dollar store cleaning products. The lid "closes" but product still pours out of 1 hole and leaks around the bottom of the cap. Walmart you really stooped to a new low with this garbage. Maybe I'll use it to scour my tub.
