These compare to the namebrand tampons. They were affordable comfortable. The packaging was great. I forgot that I was even using the equate brand and this. They were affordable comfortable. The packaging was great. I forgot that I was even using the equate brand and I 'm glad to have found an affordable option that I will continue to buy.

Saving money isn't always a good thing. These tampons are difficult to push out of the applicator. There are not enough grip lines on the handle, and putting pressure to get a good hold prevents the plunger from being pushed into the applicator, which is cheaper quality than name brands. Absorption is decent. I would rather pay a little more for a better product.

the applicators have almost no grip, making use difficult. the absorbency is good, but that applicator is uncomfortable and doesn't push well.

How did they mess up this badly?

F September 27, 2025

The team behind this particular applicator design should be fired, and their names blacklisted throughout the feminine hygiene industry. I have never experienced what I have with these tampons in my life. You cannot grip the applicator to insert the tampon, even with two hands. The slightest pressure on it makes the applicator press on the tampon too strongly. At the same time, the end of the applicator is shaped in such a way that it holds the tampon in the applicator with the strength of Hercules. It's not moving, even if you get the applicator inserted. (If you can actually get the tampon in, it actually lasts longer than another particular overpriced tampon brand, but by the time you're done you'll look like the perp of an unlawful incident so...) So, engineers behind this monstrosity, what's the point of a tampon that you can't use because its applicator won't let the user insert the thing? At least it's not a literal cardboard tube like the last design...? That one was horrid... (By the way, whoever rated these things 5 stars needs a mental check from professionals.)

!!!!!!!!DO NOT USE THESE!!!!!!!!First off they smelled heavily of plastic (first red flag). The application process is a pain, EXTREMELY hard to push the applicator up and you have to partially push it out before inserting it (not to mention how slippery it is to even get a grip to insert it). They also made me feel itchy and uncomfortable after use. Spend the extra money on organic if you can!!!

TERRIBLE

Lindsay March 24, 2026

Absolutely terrible. These look just like Tampax, but the similarities stop there. It is nearly impossible to push the plunger into the applicator portion, before or during insertion. You basically have to insert the whole thing on your own, like an ob applicator. My recommendation is: SPEND THE EXTRA $ AND GET THE TAMPAX BRAND (they work seamlessly, require zero effort or mess, provide great coverage and are very comfortable.)

Do not buy

kimberly January 10, 2026

I usually buy Equate brand when I can because it's cheaper and quality is same as name brand. I don't mind generic. I bought this item thinking it looked the same with the plastic applicator as name brand and was cheaper. It's just awful. The applicator doesn't work well to insert and the item has a manufacturing smell that is overwhelming.

DON'T BUY THESE!!!STICK 2 YOUR TRUSTED BRAND

Lesina March 10, 2026

The most of tampons didn't deploy from the plastic area that allows for your grip to release them to get pushed from the contraption that holds the actual cotton piece and many were trashed to the point where I had to buy another brand that I trusted because I was just trying to test these more affordable tampons out.... totally wasted my money on 2 boxes

Hulk fingers? These are for you.

Danie March 13, 2026

You better hope you have some strong fingers if you want to use these. I have never in my 30 years of bleeding struggled to get a tampon to come out of its applicator but I went through 6 of these things before I got one to. I'm so mad at myself for trying to be cheap because these are a literal waste of money. I'll also add that they're itchy. Idk why it feels itchy but it feels itchy. Spend the buck more and get the name brand.

Don't waste your money on your poorest day.

Breanna January 13, 2026

You might as well just free bleed everywhere on purpose. All absorbancies are basically the same size and the applicator you really have to push hard to insert the actual tampon. 10/10 do not recommend. You get what you pay for, invest in the Tampax or Kotex. Equate is great for many things, but not your period.
