This steam vaporizer is absolutely amazing. It works without added salt, and it lets out a lot of steam for the entire time. My Vicks humidifiers (all 3 of them) require tons of salt to even work. And even then, they stop letting out steam when it's about halfway empty. Other reviewers have mentioned the black pieces in the after when you refill it, but I have exactly the same issue with the Vicks one. You rinse it out, when it needs a refill. Don't just put water in the dirty water. It's not been an issue for me. I'm never going back to Vicks! The real test will be how long this lasts. Vicks has given me 1 or 2 years of mediocre performance for each humidifier. If this one outlasts the others as well, that would just be the bees knees. I will say that the little salt scoop that was supposed to be included wasn't there, but who cares? It works without salt!
I absolutely love how easy it is to use. I love that I add cool tap water to the MAX line. I put the cover back on and locked it into place. I then plugged it in and powered on. I tried it without the scent first. I liked how steady the steam was coming out. I love automatic shut off because I tend to forget to check to see if it needs more water. The scent pads are amazing and strong at first but eventually wears off.
after 2 months of use, and black flakes in the water in the morning, it now does not make steam. the black flakes were NOT from the water, they are from the disintegration of the element. it now only works for about an hour because the element is literally gone. we did not add salt to the water. you get what you pay for. Not a bargain.
Brown and Blake deposits after a few mins of use. At first I thought it was taking all the germs out the room but I think the heating element is broken. It started having a burn smell to it. It Also make a awful boiling noise. It's very very loud!
Wish I could give this zero stars. We have bought three of these over the last two years and every one of them had the button break after being used for no more than a month. The last one we bought had an electrical shortage and started smoking and the button broke again. We will never buy another one. Let this be a warning to you, DO NOT BUY!
I had purchased for a family member for her daughter and after a couple days she unplugged it to move to another room (temp was -5 w a windchill of -29 and we were all moving into the same room to try and keep warm since we're in Oklahoma and not used to this weather) and plugged it back in and the vaporizer blew up. The baby was across the room thank God, but EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED that Walmart would allow this thing to be sold.
terrible. just when i desperately needed it this thing wont work. only used once before. the switch failed. when attempting to toggle it, the entire switch popped off into my hand with even a metal piece going flying across the floor! i think this is a dangerous thing to try to use. unfortunately i cannot return. and when checking w.m.com today the price is almost DOUBLE what i paid 5 months ago!
one use it had black all over the bottom... I thought the air was just dirty, I have used it four times in 24 hours and is not any better. It also splatters everywhere creating a water mess on my counter.. no it's going to leak it just splatters water. so annoying to have to feel it every few hours it doesn't last very long four to five hours max before you have to refill it again. definitely going to spend more than $15 on my next one.
i ordered this on 10/27/22. it worked well as a nighttime humidifier every night since then until today, 12/1/22. i refilled the bottom, never going higher than the line, and went to flip the button on (rocker switch style button) and it popped up and out of place and then sparked and fizzled. i immediately unplugged it because i dont want to set my bedroom on fire. now i go to bed without it, and tomorrow i will be attempting to return it. i had a vicks branded one that was similar style that lasted me over 3 years with regular (nighly for months at a time) use... this one only went 34 days!!
Would not recommend this product. Bought it for my baby, used it for 2 nights and threw it away. Unit got extremely hot to the point where the surface of the table it was sitting on bowed up. Water bubbled out from the top and completely drenched the floor with water. Would not advise anyone to purchase this product and use it, even for a single night.
