Espoma - Organic Traditions Compost Starter- 4 lb Bag - BE4

It was quickly delivered (4lb bag) in its own box. Added to my compost barrel next day. Have purchased this product before, so know it works to speed up a bit the break down of materials when sometimes the balance of green v brown materials is out of balance.

Obviously this is a product that does not show its true works for weeks or months. I have used similar products in the past and this one applies and breaks down well. I would buy it again, but not from Walmart as it took over two weeks for the product to arrive and it was not available for pick up at the store.

I have been using in a composting toilet system. It helps keep the system active during periods of varying usage.

only need a small amount to start.. this little bag will last if ur composting under 100 gallons

The product does just whatI needed to get my compost pile started, but WOW it stinks!! After a few days, the compost smells rich and earthy and just fine. I double bagged the starter because it smells so bad.

convenient bag but wish more information about optimizing activation with application

I didn't really noticed an obvious benefit to using this stuff but I'm a novice gardener with a new compost pile.
