Walmart's EverStart Platinum AGM battery provides ample power with a strong warranty that helps justify the cost. Note however that my purchase was online with a pick up at the store. When I then took back the old battery for credit, along with my online receipt, it was not accepted at the store. Customer service told me they could not process the refund, but I was never clear as to why.
After installing it myself in my 2006 Corolla and using it for one day, I can say it seems like a good battery at a reasonable price and, If it lasts 6 years, I'll be satisfied. But look out for two things: 1. Walmart tacks on a $12 core fee when ordered online that they do not intend to give back if you return the old battery. Had to call customer service to get satisfaction with a $15 promo to use by November. Then I handed in the old battery to the store. OK, but be warned. 2. There is a 1" plastic spacer that comes with the battery sitting atop the battery. No note or warning in the literature to tell you that this new battery is one inch shorter than older batteries and the spacer should be used under the battery to raise the battery so that it fits properly under the hold down bracket. New battery is about 7-1/8" high to the bracket. I had no warning, so used wooden spacers atop the battery under the hold down bracket. Using the plastic spacer under the battery would probable be less time consuming work and make for an easier installation. The fact that Walmart and Everstart provide no warning is negligent.
I couldn't be more impressed with the service and the product. After my battery went out, I was able to get this replacement delivered the same day I ordered it. It arrived at a very decent time, which saved me from being stranded or having to scramble for a ride to the store.
Worked perfectly for my 2013 Nissan Maxima and it cranked right up. This is the third battery of this brand that we have bought for our vehicles and all of them have lasted a long time. Best of all, Walmart had it delivered to my house within three hours!
Seems like a good deal but buyer beware buying on Walmart .com. Firstly l liked the deal, delivered to my door promptly. I triple checked the size of my battery required, it was size 35 for a 2017 maxima. I went on other sites to do a double check, walmart then said exact fit for your maxima, ok done ordered. Tried to fit the battery, length and width fine but it was about an inch shorter on height so the terminals did not go low enough, so I wil have to buy a height base to extend it. Next I took the old core battery back to the store and they would not give me the $12 New Jersey mandated old battery return because I had bought a walmart battery on walmart.com. A good person that worked for local Walmart went to bat for me and got my old core battery return authorized, but what a lot of work and my new battery still does no fit height wise. Wishing now I should have got it replaced by the Nissan dealer and paid a little more
Easy Walmart internet ordering and overnight home delivery. Battery worked great, but Walmart Store processing old battery core return for refund was a nightmare of biblical proportions! Store had no clue what a battery exchange core refund was for internet purchases. Even though in store core returns were readily processed and had signage at the automotive center service desk. The automotive dept manager said the codes didn't work / that cores from internet sales weren't allowed, and we hadn't paid for 5he core in the first place. We requested a Customer Sec Rep, who told us to dial 1-800 Walmart help line while we stood at the automotive desk, and that would solve the problem, then she left. After 10 minutes on hold the 800 Rep told us that her supervisor didn't know about core returns and they'd call me back within 24 hours. As I wasn't going to wait for 24 hours or come back to the store, zi took the battery in a cart to the front Customer Service desk and asked to speak with the store manager. Apparently the store manager wasn't going to be available, so the assistant manager sent back a new CS clerk to the automotive Department again, but this time to find “a special code” written on a column wall. 10 minutes a code was entered into the register (it might have been a get this guy out of here concession code), and a core refund for the old returned battery was made. Time elapsed; 1 Hour 49 minutes, Labor: 5 Walmart employees, 1 800 line “specialist”, One assistant store manager, 1 CS Clerk who knew of a hidden return code. For $12 plus sales tax in refund, my recommendation…pick up your next automotive battery in person from Costco Walk-in or Sams Walk-in, or from an over the counter automotive parts store….Walmart Internet for automotive batteries and core handling is an adventure and 2 hours out of your life you should try to avoid!
I rated it 1 star because the sticker on the battery obviously isn't the same as described on Walmart website. It should be AAC 650 and Ah 55. As you can see it on the attached photo, the label on the item shows AAC 640, Ah 50. There is another review pointed this out. Hope Walmart fit the issue soon.
The webpage lists this battery as “650 CCA, 55 Amp hrs” with a 4-year warranty. Based on that description, I paid $30 more for the EverStart Platinum AGM instead of the EverStart Maxx. When the battery was installed, the label showed only “640 CCA, 50 Amp hrs” (see attached photo). At first, I assumed I had received the wrong product and almost requested a replacement, but after scanning its barcode with the Walmart App, I confirmed it matched the correct product page. This proves the problem is with the webpage's false and misleading product descriptions. If I had known the true specifications, I would never have chosen this battery. Since it was already installed in my car by the Walmart Auto Center, a replacement would be highly inconvenient. This is extremely disappointing. I feel misled into paying extra for specifications that the product does not actually meet. I am leaving negative feedback here to call out the dishonest and inaccurate description on the webpage, which misrepresents the product and deceives customers.
the order process is good , the pickup was great but the return of the core was horrible . its like walamrt is trying to hide the core and call it a fee (free money for the store) when i tried to return the core i got the run around . was sent to 3 different people and then told there was nothing they could do to return the core fee . it was only 12.00 but at this point ( 1 hour waiting) it was more for the point of it . was told by the last csr that i needed to call walmart.com. did this and the person had no idea what a core was or how to get us a credit. really think walmart is hoping the customer gets tired of the run around and leaves . really need to figure out away to get the customer the core cost back when returning the core .
Positive battery terminal post is skinnier than the OEM battery or better name brand batteries. As a result the battery wire clamp could not be tightened enough for a snug fit meaning the battery was not being charged when driving causing me a no start dead battery issue miles from home. Look at the positive terminal post on this battery or measure its width against other batteries post width before you make the mistake I made. The bolt cannot be tightened down anymore it's already bottomed out . Now stuck with a battery where I have twist the clamp almost sideways to get enough contact for my battery to charge. And it will get loose as I drive so I have to retwist weekly. And invest in a portable car starter power bank. That saved me miles from home with that dead Walmart Everstart skinny terminal post battery. BEWARE!
