Exactly what I needed
Looks like made with good components.
I am using the EverStart Metal Toggle Switch for lighting inside my truck cab. I put the switch between the power and the lights. I drilled a 7/16th hole under the dashboard to put the switch out of sight. The switch has a firm throw, so accidental knocking the switch should not turn it on. The switch comes 2 nuts to hold it in place and an on / off plate. The threaded shaft is about 3/8th of inch, which allow you to put the switch in material up to 1/4 inch.
A toggle switch is a toggle switch right?? Well maybe not. This one is as solid as Fort Knox. I am going to install it in my baby 1955 CHEVY for the heater switch. I know that when I hide it from view , I will not have to ever worry about it again. The contacts are solid copper with stainless steel screws for attaching the wires. The rivets that anchors them to the switch is solid with zero play in them. The ON AND OFF stamps are very visible, but won't be seen by anybody but me. The crimps are solidly crimped to the base. This switch will last my life time. By using it in my 55, says all that I need to say. It has to be the best, period.
I use these toggle switches all the time on automobile projects and occasionally on home repair projects. Good high quality switch all around for low amperage applications where it is not pulling a high load. Have never had one burn out when used in the proper position but be sure you do not overload the rated amps and will last a long time.
This is a nice switch, solid build for any automotive use perhaps for accessories such as off road lights, etc. Terminals are easy to connect to with the screws already mounted to them.I like these type of switches, they tend not to go wrong so easily compared to rocker switches, plus its easier to make a hole for it to fit rather than cutting a rectangle for the other type. I suppose the only problem would be if you needed a light to indicate it was on or off but otherwise very happy.
I needed a good toggle switch that I could use in my jeep to open the window on the hatch back so when I saw this one I decided to get it. It worked out really well and now having to use the pickup service for no contact shopping,I don't have to get out of my car when I go to pick up things at the grocery store. It was a real simple installation My Husband drilled a hole to accept toggle, connected the two wires from switch to sensor and that’s it. This toggle switch could be used for numerous commercial and residential applications. It was designed for use with a 20Amp/12Volt Direct Current system. the quality construction will give you many years of use. So if your looking for a toggle switch to repair some thing electrical I would recommend the EverStart Metal Toggle Switch and you will get this at a really great price..
This toggle switch was easy to install and most anyone should be able to install it without any issues or problems, just make sure you disconnect the power before you try to install the switch. It comes with some very well written instructions and tips on how to install it and what to do and not to do. The switch is labeled well with the words on and off above and below the switch, which is good for someone like me when I'm having a brain bubble moment. The switch doesn't appear to be cheap made and feels durable and strong. Hopefully that means it will last for quite a while and provide long time use. It also has copper leads which you can see in the attached picture if that is of interest to anyone and stainless steel screws for attaching the wires. The switch moves easily up and down without hesitation or struggling. It is rated for 20a/12VDC and shouldn't be used for anything rated above that. My husband used this switch on his electric bike to operate the headlight which he likes to ride back and forth to work when the weather permits it. I received this product free from the Spark Reviewer program for testing purposes.
This is a good quality switch. It has a positive feel when you operate it. I like the screw type lugs that this has. They offer ease of use and the best connection. The instructions are good and detailed. I would recommend this product to a friend.
I cant speak to its preformance once used, i gave it to my fiance to use on a golf cart project but he seemes to be pleased with it. Not flimsy or cheap, he liked the metal as opposed to the plastic ones hes used. For a basic switch, seems good and has help up nicely.
