I am very happy with the EVOO EVC156-2BL. I didnt expect much for the price ($299) but I was quickly impressed by the quality and performance. I mostly use the laptop for email, watching YouTube, Zoom, and spreadsheets so I dont tax the CPU much. The response is great and there isnt a lag for the things I do. I have converted several videos using Handbrake and it encoded them quickly. The display is 1080p and is good for streaming movies and YouTube. I get about 6 hours of constant use with the battery. WiFi is very good. I only have 200 mbps internet service at home but was able to get 175 mbps on WiFi with this laptop; not bad. Windows runs fine but I like Linux so I installed Linux Mint in a dual-boot configuration along with the preinstalled Windows 10 Home edition. The laptop is not locked down as some people mentioned. Just hold down the Delete key after pressing the power button. The only issue I had while installing Linux was the Wifi driver did not come with the Mint installation software. I connected a USB ethernet adapter to access the internet and Linux quickly downloaded the necessary wifi driver. Linux Mint runs great without any issues. Again, this laptop is great for the price.
Extremely fast. Great Battery. I was sure the i7 was probably an older one (7th Gen) due to the price, but the SSD and i7 combo even though it's older makes it extremely fast. Horrible Webcam (2mp) to be expected at this price point. Great little computer.
Love everything about this laptop with the exception for the need to power it back up, even when just put into sleep mode. Super fast even with multiple tabs open and running, not a problem for this computer. The power up could be a setting not sure, haven't had a chance to check that out yet. But Definitely recommend.
I have had the computer for only four days, but so far I am pleased. The computer boots and responds to commands in a very acceptable amount of time. I really appreciated the performance/value for the price, and the fast delivery. It was a nice surprise to find Microsoft Office for Home and Students pre-installed. Any disappointments have been Windows 10 related- Bluetooth earbuds stuttering.
Set up was fast and easy, it synced right up with my primary laptop and iPhone. Within 15 minutes I was online and surfing the web, so easy!! I did install Bitdefender Total Security and it found 4 critical Windows 10 updates that took about an hour. Not having a CD drive will take some getting used to but the two USB ports will be fine for software drivers not available on the web. My only complaint is the space bar on the keyboard, it must hit right in the center to work, I'll just use my illuminated Logitech keyboard instead. I caught it on sale fir $329, what a deal!! Received very quickly in perfect condition, thanks Walmart!!
I wasn't sure what to expect at $300, and its keyboard is cheap feeling, but the screen, SPEED, instant boot up, and slim case make this a great buy at this price! No issues in a few days of frequent use. Clean Windows installation (no bloatware) is really nice. Wait til these go on sale and buy!
The Laptop worked well for what I need it for ( E-Mail, U-Tube,Websearches ) The only thing that annoyed me was the battery life. It didn't last much more than 3 hours.
Pros: speedy, great display, thin, light. Cons: no airplane key, small 0 on keypad, small shift key on right side, thick bezel around display (old fashioned), no ethernet slot. DEAL BREAKER (returned) Confirmed by tech support / BIOS IS LOCKED! PC does not look to USB as first boot, just goes to hard drive. This means you can't change the BIOS boot order to start PC from a USB stick for recovery / initial boot to start Windows if you ever have a system crash. No other PC that I am aware of locks you out of BIOS changes. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.
I purchased in February 2021 and in September 2021 the screen is stuck on an update and technical support has not helped at all! They keep giving me instructions on charging and letting the battery die completely and it does not work. This is under warranty but they will not accept it back or send a new one. They just keep giving me other things to do that do not work.
Horrible. Turned it on and installed Microsoft Office. Then the computer shut down. When restarted the computer, it just gave a blue screen. Followed all troubleshooting directions and it would not correct it. A couple days later, turned it on to try to fix it, everything worked fine for about 20 minutes and then boom, blue screen and same problem. Went to return device a week later and they will only give you Walmart store credit. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I read the reviews and thought for what little bit I needed it for, it would work fine for me. No, it doesn't work at all!
