Expert Gardener Extendable 38in Lopper

Reading some of the negative reviews I was a little skeptical to purchase these loopers. But I am sure glad I took the chance. They work perfectly for the main purpose I bought them for. We have several bushes and trees we need to trim often and any good looper will do. We already had two (different styles/sizes) but THIS one is EXPANDABLE and can extend to a long looper. That is exactly what we needed to trim our Pygmy Date Palm Tree. For those who don't know, the Pygmy Date Palm has LONG fronds with EXTREMELY SHARP THORNS. Those thorns are like needles and are about THREE INCHES LONG. Trimming a Pygmy Date Palm can be a very dangerous, hazardous and painful experience! Extend them out to cut the fronds WITHOUT getting stuck is what this expandable looper does. For that purpose, these expandable loopers do the trick perfectly. We highly recommend them.

Professional grade. I checked other stores and this price is the best. My old pruning tools were worn out so I needed to replace them. Glad I found this brand. I didn't want to pay a high price but wanted professional grade.

Very stout pair of brush shears. They option to extend out the shears to get at those hard to reach areas is a plus. These shears made quick and clean work of an old rose bush we needed to remove. It easily cut thru 2 inch thick base branches as it did the smallest ones. The extension feature gave great leverage.

It's the same every year. I try to trim some lower branches on a tree outside my window and our old clippers are dull and rusty and I am also short. And then I use a stepping stool or drag a ladder around, which then trips me up and when I finally get to the branch, I make a mess of it and what should have been a quick snip turns into a major operation. I did not know clippers – or loppers as some call them – not sure there is a difference – come with telescopic handles. Problem solved! The Expert Gardener Eg Extendable 38in Loppers have nice grips and easy to extend arms. The blade is hardened, precision-ground steel and stays sharp, I used it to cut a branch 1 inch in diameter. I cannot say that it was easy to cut, but I'm not very strong and although these clippers are not too heavy, I still have a bit of a hard time lifting them for more than a few minutes at a time. My husband loves them, and now he's the one using them all over, for trimming bushes and vines, etc. Why he didn't get a new one if he knew there were better ones out there than our old rusty one is a mystery to me. I can recommend this cutter although it's a bit on the heavy side for a woman and a bit cumbersome to use when extended to its full size.

These gardening trimmers are great. The blades are very sharp, they cut through small branches very smoothly. I love how you can adjust the handles to go longer or shorter. There is 6 different notches to have the handles at 6 different lengths. Each notch is about 2 inches apart. So basically they can expand up to a foot longer. Each notch locks the handle into place.

Would definitely recommend this product. It works great and it's half the price of the bigger name brands.

This lopper is very light for the size, thanks to the hollow handle bars. The downside is that this is not designed for heavy work. So far, I cut about ten suckers that are about my thumb & index finger thickness with this lopper. While I could cut them without much difficulty, I felt the handle bars (fully extended) could be bent if I cut them harder. The jaw was also a bit loosened, so the later cuts were not as nice as the earlier cuts. The edges held up pretty well. So, if you need to use a lopper a lot for lighter work, this is a good choice. If you need to cut thicker and harder stems, look for a more sturdy one.

This lopper is a great tool for trimming twigs and small branches. It extends easily and locks in to the desired length. It's sharp and goes through small branches easily. The only downside is it is a bit bulkier than I expected it would be. But it works well and is a good value.

They're hard to handle and to heavy for me. I'm 67 and I guess I should of purchase something that wasn't so hard to handel. I thought I could do it. . I still have yard work to do... These loppers were designed for someone with strength in there upper arms and that I don't have. but, that being said, they are made well . A great deal , and well worth it. I have passed them on to a more able person. They were very happy to receive them.
