I have been spending good money for great coffee and being dissatisfied with the electric Kcup and drip coffee makers. Happy with my morning coffee once again with the stove top perculator method. Mmmm good coffee.
We are having our first family reunion camping trip. We are looking forward to having coffee in the morning early. Excited about our new coffee pot.
I bought this about a month ago and use it every morning for my coffee. Old school coffee pot, no electric cords or tubes to clean out. Put it on the stove burner, set the burner on medium and 15 minutes I have a pot of excellent tasting coffee. Easy to wash.
I bought this for my husband who loves coffee and who remembers growing up with a percolator in the house. It's retro and works great. He made a great pot of coffee this past Sunday morning. He loved doing it and the coffee was full-flavored and delicious. Plus it looks great in the kitchen!
This is great, never knew I could work one of these, yet after doing some research I found that using a Percolator coffee pot, I found that the coffee taste is the way it's supposed to be. The oils in the he coffee are not disturbed by a paper filter and the coffee is hot.
Excellent purchase! When the ice storm hit Monroe, Louisiana %26 we loss power; I made it my business to purchase %26 old-fashioned percolator! It is the best decision I could have made! I have a gas stove and now today is the first day of Hurricane season! Come what may, I’ll have my coffee.
Very attractive, well-made percolator. Can be used with or without a paper filter (I use a paper filter). Clear top is glass, not plastic. Stainless steel is highly polished and a medium gauge. Handle stays cool. Makes hot delicious coffee. I can recommend this product.
Bought a cheap percolator and always had grounds in my coffee. I read reviews on this Faberware 8 cup and I'm very impressed. It even makes cheap coffee taste smooth and good. Also, I get no grounds in my coffee. Quality unit.
LOVE this percolator. The only reasons I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is; the first time I ordered it, it came without the lid. Clearly Farberware is not hiring the best candidates for the job. The lid was extremely difficult to remove for the first 4 or 5 uses, then it became usable. I did almost throw it in the trash but sticking with it paid off. Another reason I won't give 5 stars is that there is no 4 to 6 cup stovetop model like this. That would have made this Farberware percolator perfect. So even though it is much bigger and bulkier than I need and the lid...the g-d lid...It is a superior product that makes an incredible cup of coffee. My personal tried and true formula on an electric stove: Fill to 4 C. line, add 2 TBS. Gevalia coarse ground and 2 TBS. Chock Full O'Nuts (I'm poor, okay? and this works FANTASTICALLY). Put basket on pump and put spreader (water diffuser) on top of basket. Snap lid on, turn burner on to number 8 setting. Turn on timer set for 10 mins. Return to stove at timer alarm. Immediately turn burner down to 4 as soon as percolation is seen in the glass knob. Turn on timer for 8 minutes. When timed percolation complete, remove from heat and set timer for 5 minutes (to allow brewed coffee to drain from basket). Remove basket%26spreader before pouring - or you could try not removing, its just what has worked best for me. And I use tongs to remove the spreader and basket. Using the timer and adjusting it to your stove's cooktime is a game changer, you are not tied to the stove watching for water to boil. This product makes an absolutely fantastic cuppa joe!
I wanted this coffee maker because it has no plastic parts. It’s attractive and well made. I find it difficult to assemble the internal parts as well as attaching the lid completely, for example attaching the top firmly into the basket holding the coffee grounds and the lid at the top. The positive side of that is that the basket top and lid are firmly attached when you can get that done. One thing you must have is a paper filter inside the basket to prevent grounds from getting in the coffee.
