Farberware Edgekeeper Classic 7-inch Santoku Knife with Black Self-Sharpening Sleeve and Handle

I love this knife! The edge is super sharp, and stays sharp because of the sharpener in the sheath. The handle fits my hand perfectly and has a nice feel to it. Just make sure you wipe the blade when removing from the sheath like you would if you sharpened the knife yourself.

Extremely sharp knife upon delivery with a sharpener in the sheath, an added value to an already great product at a great price. I use it for sushi, salmon and just about anything else that I need the added leverage this long sharp knife provides. Great product!

This turned out to be a great purchase. I love the covering, and the built-in sharpener. It is very sharp and sturdy. Makes it fun to chop a bunch of stuff, which oooh this just reminds me to chop up a bunch of bell peppers. Looking forward to making short work of it with this knife! Good value!!

I moved and a few things were missing including some of my favorite knives. I bought this this morning and had it delivered today with some groceries. I immediately opened and cut up a large red onion. It was super. Use caution removing from packaging and the sheath. My right hand is a mess but it felt comfortable in my hand. Dull knives or the wrong type can cause tg He worst accidents. Now I'm not nervous about cutting up a pineapple. I had a slightly more knife in my cart online and this was the sub since merch was low. Definitely keep out of kids all kids reach.

Bought as a gift. I have used Farberware knives for a long time. My old knives are still sharp and in great condition. This knife seems lighter and possibly lower quality. Won't know for sure until my sister opens it up on Christmas and we can really use it. I hope it holds up to old Farberware standards.

Was not very sharp when I opened it and the sharpener doesn't do anything

The first thing that I noticed is there is no catch and no rhyme or reason the built in sharper will or will not engage the blade. It's dangerous in how it's been made, period. SECONDLY it creates burrs, and i managed to get a pretty severe slice from a burr while running my hand along the SIDE of the blade, where nothing should ever be to cut you. The knife itself it good, the hilt seems strong and it feels balanced - but throw that self sharpening sleeve in the TRASH before you do something unexpected trying to get the stupid knife out of the sheath. 0/10 on safety
