There are plenty of cells to start many different plants. The cells have drainage to prevent flooding and there is a tray that fits underneath the cells to keep the display surface dry. A clear plastic done is provided to create a greenhouse effect. I just planted two whole packages of seeds yesterday snd I am excited to see them sprout.
A truly nice little kit. Comes with two trays with the "cells" for adding your soil and seeds. They fit in the larger bottom tray both to catch any drips and for bottom watering, if that is your choice. Also came with a clear raised lid, perfect for keeping the seeds nice and warm and humid so they germinate quickly. Been a couple of weeks, and my basil is all set to move into bigger temporary pots for hardening off before I put them in the garden for a nice winter crop of basil (yes, I'm in the south). This will get cleaned out and used again next season!
I normally don’t leave reviews like I would like to but this one I had to make a point to do! I’ve never had much luck growing things but when I purchased these and followed the directions sitting them in my garage in front of the window the results were amazing. Within two days I had sprouting on nearly all the seeds planted and within a few days after the remaining had sprouted. Even seeds out of season that I plan to do a greenhouse. I was so amazed. I cannot recommend this item enough!! Get it. It was the cheapest option but the results were amazing.
I have never started anything from seed before this is the first time in my life that I’ve done it, and this was very self-explanatory and good quality. But I’m actually prefer that that way I could select what type of soil I get. Overall, everything is great and I have plants sprouting! Definitely good for beginners. I have all of my vegetables and herbs in them and I actually bought two more just because I like it so much. It’s a sturdy as I expected it to be. It’s not super strong, but I believe it’ll last me another year if I take good care of it.
This Ferry-Morse Pro-Hex 72-cell seed starting tray works great for getting plants started. The cell size is ideal for a variety of seeds, and the hex design gives roots a bit more room to grow compared to standard trays. The plastic feels sturdy and reusable, so it doesn’t bend or crack easily when filled with soil. I also like how neatly everything stays organized—72 cells let you grow a lot without taking up too much space. It’s perfect for starting vegetables, herbs, or flowers indoors before transplanting. Overall, a reliable and practical tray that makes seed starting simple and efficient. Great value for any home gardener! 🌱
these are extremely convenient. as some other reviews might state, they don't actually function as advertised when it comes to squeezing the bottom to pop the plant out. you risk either damaging the plastic and rendering it when use, or damaging the seedling roots. I had no trouble getting my seedlings out however, as I just slipped in a tongue depressor or a pair of chopsticks into one side and literally scooped the entire thing out. (I now have garden chopsticks, who woulda thunk) You can stabilize the entire thing with your free hand, and you get to watch those glorious little roots on their way to their new home. Minimal root disturbance. I transferred my first tray of seedlings into the garden a couple of weeks ago, and I have my second round of sprouts popping out now. The ones in the garden are thriving, so they absolutely did not mind the transplanting experience.
My flowers are thriving in this container. I absolutely love it. It gives me lots of cubicles to plant a lot of things at once and it is also reusable. I love that part.
if you're sprouting seeds this is a must. it worked great. seeds really wouldn't sprout before i got this, and now everything sprouts! it's great.
Absolute junk. Made with super thin crinkly plastic. Cannot believe it was ever sold at 16 dollars. I got the same thing from dollar genral for the same sale price minus the plastic lid and hold much better without deforming or breaking.
This was delivered to my house and melted within hours of receiving. Bad quality! Don't waste your money!
