My son really likes this toy. I decided on this one because it seemed to have a few more "bells and whistles" than similar toys. I especially like that he has to figure out different motions to get the bugs to pop back up (push a button, flip a switch, twist a knob..)
He loves to "bop" them all down and then make them pop up again and he picked up on all of the things you push pretty quickly. The one you turn is still too hard for him but he's getting there. He loves it when I clap and praise him for making them pop up-definitely a good cause-and-effect toy.
My one year old grandson absolutely loved the Bopping Activity Bugs!!
My 7 month old likes pushing down the heads and learning how to use the different gears to have it pop up from my 3 year old. For the price this is a good toy!
This toy has been a favorite in my family for 50 years. It used to be called the Surprise Box. It has less sharp edges than it did 50 years ago but works the same for little fingers.
We recieved the boppin bugs as a gift at 6-12 months and at 14 months she still plays with it. After looking at the others similar to this one I like this one better. The others have the piece like a door that opens and closes...the fingers I wanted to watch for. I like the colors for a boy or girl and the different choices they have while playing is very nice.
I recently purchased "Boppin' Activity Bugs" for my 8 month old son because I remember enjoying playing with a similar toy when I was a child. He likes working all the buttons & switches. I thought he might have a problem with the dial, but that was one of the first ones he figured out! Even though he has figured out the different switches, he still enjoys activating them and watching the bug pop up. I plan to also use it to work on following directions ("Pop the yellow bug") in the future. I like the fact that it works without batteries and I don't have to turn it on for him to be able to play with it. I also have to compliment Fisher-Price on their packaging. I could free the toy easily without any scissors or having to deal with those impossible wire twist-ties, which is important when you have a little one that can't wait to start playing!
Again very poorly made and not worth the money. But wood products.
ok for a 1 yr old,but made very cheaply-
This is a basic toy, nothing special about this toy and does nothing but push bugs down and then push click or turn to make them pop up...no music, no lights and not much sound. It is an ok toy but there are much better one's out there that do a little more. Some people like quiet toys...well this one is for you and still entertaining for your child. Made well, it is a Fisher Price toy, just not one of their best.
