Melissa & Doug Deluxe Pounding Bench Wooden Toy With Mallet

Our newly minted 1 year old likes the hammer and pegs BUT she also likes to take the hammer to bang on the table. That's kind of the grandparent's fault because they use to let her bang on the table with plastic blocls. Other than that, it's a winner.

I purchased this item for a 1yo birthday gift. The colors are bright, the idea of cause and effect is there and it helps teach them dexterity holding the hammer and hitting the pegs. I love Melissa and Doug toys, they're always made with such good quality and care. Would definitely recommend this

This is one of those classic toys that just works. My little one stays busy with it and loves flipping it over and starting again. It's sturdy, not cheap feeling at all, and holds up to rough play. Great for motor skills and honestly just a good way to burn some toddler energy. Definitely recommend.

My son lost the hammer for it… but that's for the best! Hehe, he learned how to hammer! So he would beat me on the head with it lol, he is 1.5years old so yeah he's learning a lot. He knows how to say all the colors, he knows the shapes, ABC's, he can count to 20, and he can count down from 5-1! Thankfully this was constructed well enough to be sturdy and durable and hold up to his hammering strength!

This little work bench is great because no pieces are ever lost! The mallet is a nice size and not too heavy. The wooden pieces do not come out, simply move up and down. I was surprised the kids would like it to much, but they do, and play with it often. This is best used by a 2 year old (ish) age, but our 4 year old enjoys it now and then.

Bought for a grandchild and he loves playing with this toy. He really expresses joy when hammering on those little pegs, but watch out for the young ones who get really into it and may hit themselves with the hammer. The toy is well made and looks like it will withstand many happy hours of kids hammering away at the fun colored pegs. It is nice to see some companies still see the value in making sturdy wooden toys. Highly recommend this product.

Sturdy, well made, bright colors, real wood. Holds up to some violent hammering. Ha! Our grandson loves it, and we love that it's not a plastic piece of junk like so many toys out there these days.

The quality is good, as it is with all of the Melissa and Doug products I have purchased. I bought it for a two year old boy. To be honest, he wasn't that interested in it. I thought it looked really cute and fun.. I think it's just one of those things that depends on the specific child and what they like to do. He just didn't seem to find it interesting enough. I still think it's a nice product and a good value. Just wasn't a hit for my little guy.

We gave this as a gift and it was very loved. However, the wooden pegs are made from very soft wood. The toy had many dents after just a few minutes of play.

Kids are kids so they like to bang on things…. Well while my little does you can see the wood get chipped for the little wooden hammer but over all a cute little toy
