Fisher-Price Wooden Cake, Pretend Food Decorating Set for Preschool Kids, 14 Wood Pieces

My littles love to play "birthday/happy birthday"! This wooden cake was the perfect toy for them to add to their fun. They love the little candles and getting to cut the cake into pieces. It's a great interactive toy for toddlers!

This is really nice quality and a great price too, especially considering that I was able to get it on sale! My toddler is very into play food right now/desserts of course, so he's going to absolutely love playing with this.

My granddaughter is obsessed with birthday cakes and when I found this I knew she'd love it. It's quality made with bright colors and sturdy wooden pieces and strong velcro to hold the cake pieces together my only complaint is that the hole is not deep enough to support the candles and they constantly fell out. I solved the problem by buying some small velcro disk and putting on the candle bottom and inside the candle hole on the cake. My other complaint is the there is no way to keep the cake from sliding off the cake plate that's given. Again velcro to the rescue I put a larger velcro piece on the bottom of each cake slice and matched it to another velcro piece on the plate. Other than those issues I really like the product.

This pretend cake is super cute and fun. The only downfall is that the candles do not stand straight up as shown in the pictures, they sorta just tilt to the sides which confused my 2 year old son very much as he was determined to make them stand up. Eventually he realized and we still enjoyed playing with it.

This was great for the aspiring baker in our life. the candles are a bit small for our 3 year old so we plan on keeping them out of the way for now. It is well loved.

It's cute and the concept is very nice. My daughter has been obsessed with birthdays ever since her second, and loves to sing happy birthday and have people blow or pretend candles. She was excited to get this and start throwing birthday parties immediately for her stuffed animals. The issue is just a few small details that make a huge difference. The candles won't stay in except for when the cake is sitting still on the table. If you pick it up, carry it anywhere or even bump the table, the candles all topple over and roll everywhere. This has led to many frustrated cries. She's gone back to using a pillow with a picture of a cake to sing to people and pretend to eat it. Another issue was that the provided tool for slicing the cake is much thicker than it should be. It takes some force to push it between the slices and again, kinda impedes imaginative play and independent play time. After a few tries she'd really given up on this one.

Unfortunately, the candles do not fit well on the cake slices causing them to lean and fall over. Would not recommend due to lack of sturdiness.
