I only used this lopper a few times and was very pleased with the performance. It sliced very solid 1-1.5" diameter branches with very little physical effort on my part. My assessment is that the compound gear action is quite a game changer, especially since it allows the chopping of branches in rather close proximity with a relatively short handled lopper that is easy to carry and store. My only concern is that the tool was made almost entirely with plastic materials with the only apparent metal part being the very thin titanium coated blade. Therefore, I have concerns about the product's durability and longevity. If I had been offered the option to have the gears and the gripping portion of the Lopper opposing the blade, made of more sturdy durable materials (preferably high quality metal)., I would have happily paid twice as much for piece of mind of a solid tool that could be fully functional for many years. I have read that this tool is well suited to cutting live branches that are softer than dead dry ones. So, very hesitant to experiment without a proper warrantee or product protection insurance. The Walmart website specifies that the product comes with a Limited Lifetime Warrantee . However, no details on the warrantee specifics could be found. So, very curious to know about the warrantee's limitations.
Very easy to handle and sharp. I prune an entire 230 tree orchard using 4 of these loppers. It costs me $25 ea but well worth it. No need to hire professional tree trimmers for $$$. I can do just as good a job for about $100.
I have arthritis so I was looking for something with a compound action like a bolt cutter. This works very well. It is primarily plastic, so I'm not sure about longevity, but it worked magnificently this season.
works great for trimming small tree limbs. It even cut down a small tree that was growing in my backyard. I wouldn't recommend it for larger tree branches but great for smaller tree limbs.
These loppers are small but they get the job done. They give you the leverage of the longer ones but with a much smaller design. The blades are sharp and long lasting. I was able to prune a mature sago palm and azalea in short order with this tool alone.
Fiskars is known to be a quality brand and I use the same tool in a larger model that I am happy with. I have already used the new lopper and it works well. I am very satisfied with this purchase.
This is the BEST small branch trimmer I have ever had! The Power Gear makes it much easier to use, and the whole tool is light weight. I am an 87 year old woman and with this tool I can still prune my bushes and small tree branches.
Fiskars makes good tools and Fiskars PowerGear Titanium Lopper is another great product. Very happy with my purchase😊
This is a plastic toy with a thin titanium cutting blade, and the plastic is not fiberglass reinforced. It can cut green wood off of a tree with ease when new, however, cutting wood that has been dead for more than a season with it, damages the jaw of the cutter quickly not to mention the gear your teeth are also plastic.Buy the more expensive loppers with metal leverage arms and jaws.
i only used it for a half hour and the blade was already pitted! It was very light and I loved it untilbI noticed blade. i am returning it c tomorrow.
