This splitting ax really works. The blade is plenty sharp (so be careful handling it), but the wedge shape of the head really powers through log rounds without having to swing really hard. It is also perfectly balanced. I had some 15 inch red oak rounds on a fresh felled tree and the ax split them in one swing each time. Worth every penny.
Balance is good, splits almost as good as a maul with less weight......definitely recommend
Splits wood well. Comfortable to swing and balanced in hand.
It's a great axe very comfortable to use and slices through wood like butter even harder oak.
I saw a friend use one. Was impressed and bought me and very happy.
this is the best splitting axe ever! i am disabled and I am able to split wood easily with this axe! Thank You Fiskars for helping me effortlessly split wood again.
these are great axes
I've split a lot of wood by hand in my 57 years, but this is the first "splitting axe" I've ever used - always used mauls and the old standard single blade chopping axes. This axe doesn't have the thump of a heavier maul, but then it's much lighter to swing so it's not nearly as tiring. The handle design is awesome and should last the life of the axe. The only negative on this axe is the fact that you are not supposed to the hammer the back of it like using a wedge. That will void the lifetime handle warranty. I love this axe! I wish I had bought one years ago!
This axe is awesome splits wood like a beast you don't even have to swing that hard love it
I have attempted to order this axe in a advertised weight of 6.3 lbs from Amazon (5 returns / too light ), Home Depot twice ( again too light ) and finally Walmart which I just returned due to being only 5.7 lbs. And this last one was direct from Fiskars factory. All are still advertised as 6.3 lbs. Seems Fiskars is not providing the proper axe.
