Floortex® Vinyl Rectangle Chair Mat Carpets up to 1/4" 30" x 48"

One of the first things about this chair mat is that it arrived flat! The 30" x 48" is not large, but I don't work all day at my desk and I don't need to roll around for other office machines like a printer and whatever. Yes, it will leave some indents from your wheels but again I don't move around a lot and the indents are not deep, remember this mat is for the very short carpets like the ones you see in an office. I would think that deeper carpets would let deeper indents form. Over all this is a great chair mat at a great price and did I mention it arrived in a flat box!

I bought two of these things because I have a pretty wide desk and need to be able to roll from end to end. The nice thing about my carpeting it that there is no padding between it and the actual floor. What this means is that these things should last a while (as in years) as opposed to cracking and falling apart within a few months. Take this advice for what you will but know this: These plastic floor mats work well when there is no padding under your carpeting. If you have padding then you might want to look at something else.

Protect your carpet from the movements of your desk chair with this excellent carpet mat: it is made tough yet is easy on the carpet. Also, unlike other mats, the surface isn't so slick that you feel as if you are on an ice skating rink! (Note, one thing, tho: it is really for low pile carpets.)

This mat has worked wonderful on my low pile rug in my office. It being shipped flat was also aaaaamazing! No need to flatten and we kept the flat cardboard box for art projects with the kids. I've had no issue with my wheels sinking in but I believe that's because I have the right pile carpet for it. They have thicker sizes if you have a thicker carpet or rug.

So many of these available with a few different options, but I felt the description fit what I needed so I ordered it. Yes it works well on thick carpet. It does shift slightly, so plan on putting a desk leg over one corner. Not as good as a solid sheet, I still have to PUSH to move, but much better then having chair legs on carpet. Pets don't like it because they cannot get good traction to jump. Straight rectangle. Was not sure I needed the full size but so glad I got it.

The mat is thinner than its predecessor so I have concerns for longevity. I swapped mats in the evening and overnight it did flatten out so my chair is not catching on the "hills" created by it being rolled into a tube to be inserted in a box for shipping.

So, to be fair, when you order something for half the price that every other retailer is selling it, you should expect a dip in quality. Having said that, I ordered the product and due to the shipping container I had a giant bubble of plastic I am currently attempting to flatten back into the floor mat. If it does flatten for you when you get it, then this is a great buy.

I didn't care for these mats, I purchased two. They were rolled up in a box that was beat to death and after three days they still would not lay flat on the floor, which made the fit to the area worse. I took them back. And the return process was not as simple as stated on the email. I ordered both mats together, on the email all they have to do is enter a receipt number - it didn't work. On top of that they had to do two separate returns, not a huge deal, it just took longer when I had other things to be doing.

Floor mat arrived in a fan-fold configuration in a rectagular box and therefore was no longer a flat shape. I considered returning it but since I needed it immediately, I tried to remove the pronounced wrinkles first with weight, then with heat gun and weight for 2 hours. It has flattened enough that I can use it though it still has small wrinkles that are permanent. I cannot imagine why this type of product was packaged that way.

This purchase was a huge disappointment and an annoyance. Instead of the mats being delivered in a smoothly rolled cylinder, which would have allowed me to unroll them and place on the carpet, they were shipped to me in the worst way possible. They were folded like an accordion and wouldn't lie flat. After several failed attempts to flatten them using weighted boxes, I resulted to placing them atop a very hot surface, which had been in direct sunlight for an extended period of time. The extreme GA summer heat finally forced them to flatten enough to use them, without them being a trip hazard. I would have been better off going to Office Depot and paying a slightly increased price for something that would have been immediately usable.
