I love the slight addition to the flavor of my tea from this sugar and I hear from those who drink coffee they love their coffee flavor even more now. So win win whether you drink coffee or tea and you add a little sweetness this is the one and much healthier than those artificial sweetners.
I have always enjoyed this product. If it has a downside it would be that it doesn't dissolve readily in baking unless it sits for a spell when mixed with liquids, like eggs, butter, milk before adding dry ingredients. It does seem to break down more while it's baking. Texture is not smooth like brown sugar. Even so, I adore and appreciate this product. To me, it has a bit of gentle molasses and sweetness in its taste.
This is the best turbinado sugar that Walmart offers in store. It's also a better value than the sugars that I purchase on Amazon. Delicious in coffee and tea. I occasionally even use it for baking and it works great.
I've been using for years. This has replaced white refined sugar in my home. The flavor is more intense and I use less of it. Be sure to recycle the container for other foods and gardening needs.
Walmart was out of my regular brand (Sugar-in-the-Raw), and I chose this substitution. I much prefer the plastic container of this brand and have decided to permanently switch to Florida Crystals. It has the same turbinado flavor I am accustomed to, and most importantly, if flows freely. I use it daily in my morning tea, and for the occasional recipe that calls for sugar.
I bought this 44 oz jug of turbinado sugar because I wanted something a little less processed for my morning coffee and for topping muffins before baking. I've used raw sugar before, but never this brand specifically, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The first thing I noticed when I opened the jug is the smell. It has a faint molasses-like aroma, which makes sense since turbinado is less refined. The crystals themselves are noticeably larger than regular white sugar, but honestly? I was expecting them to be bigger. These are more like coarse sand than little pebbles. Not a complaint, just an observation. In coffee, it dissolves surprisingly well for a larger crystal. It takes a little more stirring, maybe fifteen seconds instead of five, but it gets there. The flavor is where this sugar shines. It adds a very light caramel note that regular sugar just doesn't have. My coffee tastes warmer and richer without being sweet in an overwhelming way. On top of banana bread, the crystals stayed crunchy after baking, which gave a nice little texture pop. That alone made it worth buying. The jug is easy to pour but the spout could be wider. Sugar crystals occasionally scatter onto my counter if I tilt too fast. I'm hoping the flip cap stays sealed tight because humidity would turn this into one solid brick. So far so good, but I'm keeping it in a dry cabinet just in case. Good for baking, coffee, or anyone who likes a little texture in their sweetener. Fancy sugar, regular hands required
I'm not sure why this brand has the sugar come in different shades it makes the sugar look like a completely different product. My family won’t use it because they don’t think it’s the original brand…
This sugar is usually brown and good the one we got is a gray color has the seal but looks like something is wrong with it will be returning it to the store the picture of this item is how this sugar should look this one I received doesn’t look like this
Never received or my refund. Walmart.com is sending expired, damaged, or tampered products, many of which appear to come from customer returns or items removed from store shelves just days before expiration. Most people who shop on Walmart.com are low-income families and hard-working individuals who rely on affordable prices. Higher-income shoppers typically do not shop on Walmart.com.
I have been buying this exact product for years but this last order I received did not resemble the Turbinado Cane Sugar I had been ordering. It looked like they blended the turbanado sugar with a light cane sugar and I do not like. I will be returning it to Walmart and see if I can get the real Turbinado in store.
