The product picture for Fresh Step Unscented Litter does not show the low dust formula. Fresh Step has been a reliable litter with keeping odor down and the unscented version seems to make my cats happier. The lower dust helps keep the clouds away when changing litter pans or topping off the pan.
Like this litter because it has no scented heavy perfumes which can be harmful to kitty's health. Clumps well and is easy to remove from litter box. If you remove clumps daily and replenish small amount removed. You will find that the litter will remain fresher longer. No foul litter odor. Low dust. Kitty likes it too. Comfortable on his little paws.
This is the litter I use for my 2 cats. It can’t be beat for the price. I clean out the litter box once a day and don’t have to worry about their being a smell in between cleanings. I also don’t notice any dust. Note:The littler box I use is a stainless steel box with a tent canopy which contains a pouch for deodorizers and it helps contain/eliminate the smells.
There was nothing wrong with the litter it was great, but every time I order litter online I get a box that is busted open and I never get a full box of litter. I accepted it this time because I was out of litter and needed it (and I can't buy Fresh Step Unscented in the store). I have a cat who has asthma and can only use unscented litter and Fresh Step is the best. The busted open boxes are the only reason I listed poor as Meets Expectations, because I am expecting to get a full box of litter.
This unscented Fresh Step cat litter is the Best. I do not like any smell of any kind and this litter keeps any from being emitted. I usually cannot find it in the store, so I order it.
I love this litter! It does a fantastic job at keeping odors under control, no scent needed. Like everything, the price has gone up - I used to be able to get the 42lb pack for $18-19 only a few years ago - so I do have to mix it with some lower priced Arm%26Hammer litter to make it last longer. It doesn’t seem to affect anything and the A%26H litter isn’t bad either. That being said, the only thing I don’t like is how dusty Fresh Step litter can be. It’s not isolated to just the unscented version, but across the board Fresh Step is typically pretty dusty.
Works really well. Even though it's unscented, there's no kitty potty odor. No pro with dust.
I just hate clay litter. it's a little cheaper than crystals and I used to use fresh dip because of the smell. it's the best smelling that I've used but I have come to hate that clay litter after using crystals. I don't see how people use that
I will give them 2 stars because the odor control is good. Right on the box though it says 99.9% dust free. Well that is a big fat lie. I cleaned my kitty boy's litterbox out and went to refill it with this kind. The dust was so horrible that I had to leave the room for 20 minutes. My cat is a typical cat, he saw there was fresh litter in the box so naturally he wanted to go right in there and bless it. I could hear him coughing from the other room because the dust was so bad. I wouldn't buy this again because of that.
Apparently unscented does not really mean unscented. This litter has a very extreme very heavy perfume odor. Ive since learned that if you want truely no scent, you have to buy litter labeled fragrence free. If I cant bear the scent, hows a little cat going to tolerate it? Why do they allow this misleading labeling?
