I love this ice maker and would definitely buy this again if mine ever didn’t work anymore. The ice is soft enough to chew but also hard enough to keep my drinks cold in my hydroflask. I like that you can turn it on and off for when you don’t want to make ice and that it has easy self cleaning and clear instructions on how to use it and care for it. Definitely read the instructions first, that way it will last you longer. This was worth every penny and makes a lot of ice.
I got this on a whim because most chip ice makers you see are over $700.00. I did not think that it was going to be this nice. I am beyond happy with the purchase and I love that when the ice melts it automatically restarts making ice. The only odd thing I find is that the shovel it comes with does not have a designated holder. The other thing that is odd to me is that it suggests cleaning it with bleach monthly. I don’t think I am going to do that, I will probably just clean it with soap and water, I don’t want to be tasting bleach going forward. The only thing I hate about it is that I ordered black, and black is not black. It is grey. So if you are planning on trying to match your kitchen area, it’s not worth trying. I was disappointed when I opened the box, I thought they sent me the wrong one.
I’m not an ordinary ice chewer… I only like “sonic” ice. We already had an ice shortage in my home so adding something that would help eliminate that issue was a plus. We’ve owned a countertop ice maker in the past so I knew I wanted something better than that. My husband let me know it was on sale for $250 so I ordered one and had it delivered from the store the same day. I had it unboxed and making ice in less than 30 minutes. Others have mentioned it’s loud, maybe I’m just not close to it Terran but it doesn’t bother me. The sound reminds me of a soda machine. It does not run constantly and the amazing ice is well worth it for me.
We just hooked up this ice maker a couple days ago and it is so great! Makes great ice. It is beautiful! We ordered the blue to match our cabinets and coffee maker and it’s gorgeous. It does make noise but nothing more than a small refrigerator. We did order the 4-year protection plan since we have had trouble with ice makers in the past. So far, so great!
By far one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. The ice is amazing and it looks good on our countertop. Yes it’s a little loud but honestly I’ll take it for the price and quality of the machine and ice.
So far my Ice Maker works great …. Easy to operate ,very efficient . Look forward to a summer of endless cherry lime sprites and iced tea !!!!❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
Very loud when making ice cream- we have this in our open concept living room and kitchen and it’s very loud when we try to watch tv! So far so good - we will see how long it lasts! Get the warranty!
i like the ice machine itself however i was given the wrong color. you can see for yourself that the device is certainly not black. But quality of the ice maker is whats important for the rest of you and it started making a decent yield of ice within 20 minutes. its sturdy and the self cleaning mode should be a big help.
I purchased this ice maker on October 29th, 2023. Today, February 16th, 2025, it died. Like, really died. Right around the 1 year mark, several months back, the "Ice" light went out, so you couldn't tell when you'd turned the cycle on. Inconvenient, but not terrible. A couple months later, the "Power" indicator light went out. much more inconvenient, but still manageable. Today, however, it was making a ton of weird noise. I went to check it out and see what was happening when I realized the ice wasn't being cut and crushed as usual. When I pulled out the pieces, something had clearly broken. I've deep cleaned this ice maker many times, and can confirm that piece in the photo is screwed into place and should not come off like that. I emptied the ice into a bag to store and found a broken piece in the mix. Other than these issues, I've generally not had an issue with the maker itself. It produced great crushed ice, fairly quickly once it froze down. The daily cleaning was a pain, and I honestly didn't follow that part. I used only filtered water because we have hard water and deep cleaned it with vinegar on a weekly basis. It wasn't overly noisy when running until near the end. I did take issue with the way mold and mildew would try to grow in it during the warmer months, but was able to clear that out pretty easily. There are no instructions for cleaning anything other than running the self-clean cycle, so that's not ideal. All in all, I can give it 3 stars. The warranty is only 1 year, but I wouldn't have gone through that hassle anyway since they make you pay for shipping it to them to determine if its even covered under the warranty. It made ice well, could get a bit rowdy, but wasn't the worst ice maker I've ever had. I'll be looking into the GE Profile this time around, though.
This is the second Frigidaire ice machine I have bought in less than 6 months. We are not even a week in and this ice machine is already making sounds like the devil is in my kitchen. Pros: It produces a great consistency/hardness of ice The water camber is massive 1 gallon The ice camber can hold a ton of ice It make ice fast Cons: Poor quality boarding fraud It is LOUD Couple days in and it’s making funny noises just like its previous counterpart did right before it died Customer support/service is non existent and to use them you have to pay 80 ship it to them. They make it so painful so you end up giving up. This brand has one of the lowest approval rates by consumer reports and affairs Junk it’s junk! The only way I would say yes buy it is if it was less than a Benjamin. Just stay away from this beast it Will drive you mad!
