From Paris with Love

Action packed movie with John Travolta and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers. Filmed in Paris, the action is non-stop. Spies and terrorists. It is violent. Travolta plays his part brilliantly.

I was looking for this movie, the best acción movie.

I thought this was in my collection. You can imagine the surprise when I discovered it was not there. Walmart.com saved me. All of my must have movies can be loacated on Walmart.com. This way I don't have to sift through the dump bins in the store.

I love the movie. The acting of the characters was very impressive.

Action packed. Good story line. Great casting. Believable with the right amount of violence to support the story. Travolta is at his most menacing best.

This movie is dominated by John Travolta doing a crazy/extreme CIA agent. He looks muscular and his martial arts skills look as good as his dancing has in the past. There is a lot of good action that is quick and then over quickly. There are crazy situations with him and his partner played by Johnathan Rhys Myers that lead to a mix of good dialog and action. The story has some twists and turns, typical for an action spy movie. But, mostly I believe this movie relies on action and crazy situations/dialog for its entertainment value. The Blu-ray disc had a couple of bad spots on it that caused me to miss small parts of the movie. Though, looking at it, there were no visible signs of damage.

Fun Travolta action movie with a foreign twist. It was a blind buy but worth it.

From Paris With Love was a movie that was on my radar, but I never got to see theatrically. However, a few friends saw it and loved it, others hated it. Now that it is out on on shelves, I can check it out. While the movie itself doesn't take itself too seriously, as the story is cliche and filled to the brim with all the 1980's nostalgia, it has a couple of neat tricks and Charlie Wax is about the most entertaining good-guy-acting-bad act yet. Travolta shines, and if this is a second coming of him into his old-school acting roots, then I am excited to see where he goes. Johnathan Rhys Myers does a good job of being the co-star, but in ways, he comes of as the wuss agent. But in terms of moving the dialogue and action forward, Travolta and Myers do their parts well. PQ- nothing really to complain about. Grain is kept to a minimal, skin tones are accurate, and colors are strong and bright. The only downside I saw are that the black levels in some scenes look gray, but that is rare. Overall, nicely done Lionsgate. AQ-as usual, Lionsgate puts out great sounding movie transfers. FPWL is no exception. The DTS 7.1 is loud, bass thumping, and that is what counts. Even during the dialogue only scenes, you still have clarity to what characters are saying without hitting the volume button. Extras-for a Lionsgate movie, there are a few different offerings. You have BonusView, Spies Spook and Special ops, Secrets of Spy Crafts, Friend or Foe trivia game, Wax's gun locker, theatrical trailer, and Lionsgate Live along with a digital copy of the movie. Overall, and although silly and unrealistic at times, From Paris with Love is a 90 thrill ride of Action and Comedy with light suspense. Travolta fans looking for his roots will find it here, while action junkies will eat the movie up regardless. I blind-bought it, and I don't regret it
