sharp metal pieces from the cheap screen will cut you as you try to pull this garbage thing apart to use. unusable afterwards because the cone is razor sharp on both ends. you will shred any fish that goes thru it. waste of money.
This is advertised as single for $14.97 or a 2-pack for $29.97. Each trap is shown and advertised with a clip. I ordered 6, got 3 and only one clip. Strange but maybe they don't understand how the trap works. You need two sides of the funnel to hinge/interlock and a clip to hold them together. They got one out of six right. Not sure where the others are but don't think they made it on the truck. Only one had a label on it. Otherwise they are well constructed and as I had hoped.
Showed up with only one half. Was packaged/sent as such. Having to return and purchase elsewhere. Disappointed kiddo on Christmas day.
Good deal for the money. I've only used this twice so far, but worked quite well each time. The picture might look like it is coated black. It is not. Is is completely silver. Too early to tell the rust factor.
This was my third attempt to purchase this. First time the order was cancelled probably because the logistics said they had it but wasn't the case. Ordered again, this time only half of it arrived, clearly someone took it apart and only sent half. Third attempt was when I went to the Union city location to return the half and possibly exchange for a whole one. Customer service said they couldn't exchange it but would refund me and I could purchase again. She checked the system to see if any were in stock. 3 of them were supposed to be on the shelf. So i went to pick one up off the shelf but there was none. I asked the 2 guys stocking the shelves in the fishing section. They nervously showed me a sand crab rake and acted dumb. One of the workers I recognized as an angler I saw fishing the other day. These things are probably being snagged and pilfered by the staff. Not the king of thing that's easy to shoplift.
This works pretty well. Bait placement is key. Using bread smashed into the mesh around the entrance and a few loose pieces on the inside seem to be the ticket! If you leave it on the bottom you'll quite a few crawfish too! I modified mine to float at or just below the surface the keep the crawfish out and allow those at the top easier entrance. The most caught at one time was 107 minnows! However my average is around 2 dozen. It works!
Great trap, with proper bait inside and you'll have minnows in less than 30 minutes. Attracts minnows faster than Frabill traps
Walmart screws up again. I ordered Quantity of 2. Walmart sent Quantity of 1. Of Course, each minnow trap is comprised of 2 halves. I got 2 halves. I should have received 2 x 2 halves. Advanced Concepts here.
Price was good, trap feels sturdy, and easy to put together. Took it to a creek near by, put bread in it, threw it in the water, pulled it out after 5 minutes, and boom 5 minnows. Guess who is not buying minnows anymore? This guy right here! Thanks Walmart and Tackle Factory Gee's minnow trap.
It's a shame I can't give these minnow traps 10 stars. I bought three of these and the design on these blow the others out of the water. I used the black coated kind for years and the bait always escaped. Nothing gets out of these once it's in. Highly recommend paying a few extra dollars for a product that's well worth it.
