Gilmour Heavy-Duty Garden Hose, 5/8" x 50', 600 PSI, 8-Layer Construction, Kink-Resistant Design with Brass Couplings

Already kinking and swelling. "LIFETIME" means less than a year. I get fooled every time, thinking this hose this time will be better. These hoses I buy labeled GILMOUR are only good for a season then the sun has rotted them into a very heavy, swelling, kinking nuisance of a hose.

I searched 3 major retailers to find a heavy duty garden hose with solid brass couplings. These are aluminum. The stainless steel spring support is actually a plastic sleeve. The hose I received and the hose in the photos both have the same big round label, but the hose itself is not the one pictured. I have not unwrapped it as I'm still debating whether to go through the return process. I feel angry every time I look at it - no one likes being lied to! Not Walmart's fault; again, the labels are the same. Fast shipping, as usual.

Just received and the ends are aluminum and not the brass shown in the picture and listed in the description. Disappointed as it was the main reason I purchased the hose. Not sure if it's a manufacturing error or if Gilmour changed the couplings. Packaging states the couplings should be brass.

If you are like me you tend to run over your hose when you are mowing high grass. Thus I am always buying new hoses. Gilmour sounded like a good hose but you don't know until you hook it up and use it. I found that it was what I wanted in a hose. The hose was heavy duty and little stiff but did not kink. It had reinforced webbing and the ends were brass not aluminum. Aluminum tends to corrode and you have trouble unscrewing them. There are relief springs on each end to stop the hose from kinking especially at the faucet. When I first got the hose, I noticed that the packing straps had made indentions in the hose. I watched them over the next few days to make sure the hose would recover and it did.

What you get is not as pictured with both ends being brass. What you get is only one end is brass and the other is that silver metal that chemically binds with a brass faucet and you can't get it off. I'm very disappointed! I would ask for a refund but I don't want the hassle of having to package it back up and take it to the post office.

it wouldn't be so ridiculous if it didn't say as one of the first descriptions of this hose that it's "non-kinking." anti kink technology. its a false promise. all this hose does is kink up. if you want a hose that does not Kink do not buy this one.

THIS HOSE IS CHEAPER THAT THE OTHER BIG BOX STORES THAT HAVE LESSER RELIABLE CRIMPED ON OR PLASTIC ENDS...THIS HOSE HERE HAS BRASS PROGFESSIONAL ENDS,,,

Leaked at hose bib i.e. female connection, screwed on well, yet leaked on hose metal joint . Last time I buy one from walmart, as walmart wants a return and I have no printer, guess I'll end/cancel walmart!!!

looks like sturdy hose, haventbought used it yet. hope it stands up to pressure, most i have bought didnt,eveen no kink and those advertized on tv, dont waste money on those. i will see if its tough enough. sceptical until its used awhile

This was a good choice. It is perfect for our needs. This one does not retract but it isn't overly heavy and does not kink up. It is perfect for our needs. Good quality at a good price.
