This product is just as good as the brand name from the refrigerator company at a fraction of the cost! Almost $20 less, that's a good deal, especially in today's economy. It lasts 6 months, filters my water the same and it tastes great. Quick and easy installation.
It's not YOU...it's ME! I had extreme frustration in initially trying to install this. That is, until I finally realized that it was much easier than I had been making it. The videos led me to believe that the filter locked on and then twisted. NOT SO! You simply engage the prongs onto the outlet and the twist is what generates the locked configuration for water seal. DUH!! As far as the filter, it definitely fits and automatically uplinked with the refrigerator. It was a significant savings from the branded alternative. It came rapidly and was well-packaged. I will definitely purchase again when replacement time rolls around.
Very pleased with purchase. A chip is required for the filter on our new refrigerator. After I ordered this I saw this product in a list of top replacement filters. Believe it had the no 1 rating. As shown by our various quality and taste ratings we are pleased. I have ordered more to use as needed.
I purchased a genuine GE filter for my refrigerator and after installing it ice and filtered water stopped working. GE sent me a new one at no charge. Same thing. No ice, no filtered water. A repair service technician was sent out and after examining everything he informed me that the two filters that did not work were missing the RFID chips which signals the refrigerator to make ice and water. He looked up this filter and the box clearly states that it has a chip. I ordered it that day . As soon as it was installed I could hear water begin running through the filter. I ran the water dispenser to bleed the impurities and everything works great! FOR LESS than the genuine GE part which was defective.
Works well. Although I was skeptical to purchase a different brand than normal for my fridge, Im overall satisfied with this product. Ive been using it for a couple weeks now and havent noticed any type of tasten odor or anything else . I recommend it.
Paid much less. A few days shipping. Twisted out the old, twisted in the new. Ran a few quarts to clear the water. After a few weeks filter shows 97%. Good to go.
The only thing that confuses me is that it said it would last for 200 gallons. However, when I push the filter button it says 98. If it is for 200 gallons, shouldn't it start at 200 gallons?
item advertised to replace XWFE which has a chip in it so that the light will go on when the filter needs changing. I installed it today and this filter does not allow the refrigerator to reset the replace red light filter indicator. the description for this product needs to be changed because it's misleading and I would not have ordered it
This is my second time purchasing this item. This time , in less than a week it's down to 93%. At this rate in a couple of months I would need to buy another one. It should last at least six months. There are only 2 people in my household. Maybe it has a defect, but I'm not buying this again.
Don't recommend; I started seeing tiny small black flecks within 4 months. Were hard to see at first but more seen with every use. Never had problem with GE brand. Changed back to GE and problem immediately disappeared after flushing.
