Go Nuts For Donuts Classic Card Game, by Gamewright

This is a drafting and set collecting game similar to Point Salad, Coloretto, Sushi Go, Splendor, etc. Pick the cards you want, and try to assemble sets that score the most points. Cards are chosen by essentially bidding on them, but if two or more players happen to bid on the same card, then no one gets it. Since this is an open drafting game, the players always get to see what cards are available for bidding, so there's some strategy in trying to anticipate what cards your opponent will need, and then balancing that versus what cards you need. The presentation and artwork are obviously geared toward younger audiences, but the mechanics are enjoyable for any age group, particularly if you've played any other set collection games. The components consist of a deck of donut cards, a deck of smaller numbered cards to use as bidding markers, and a small set of cardboard tokens that are used to line up columns of donuts the players can bid on. Everything is pretty easy to pack for travel, or re-package if you want to put the components in an index box, pencil box, etc. You won't need a whole lot of area to sprawl out, but you probably aren't going to be able to play in the car. As of writing this brief review, Walmart currently has the game on sale for about $17. Considering it normally retails for $24 everywhere else, this is an insanely good deal, especially for a Gamewright title.

Go Nuts for Donuts is one of my favorite games. The card illustrations are sooo cute! This game is the most fun with lots of people but is still enjoyable for two to play. I totally recommend this game for ages 5-100!

Excellent little card game!! Plays very well, and both the kids and adults in our family love to play. Great purchase. Kids were very confused why the TimBits are called 'Donut Holes' though. ;)
