I had been looking for a small collander and found this one for a very good price. I love it for it's size and convenience

Small but tough!
This colander it very light and I would consider it a medium size colander. It maybe light but it has been a work horse. I use it on a daily basis in my busy kitchen and has stood up well. It can handle both hold and cold with ease. Highly recommend.

it's worth buying shortcomings and all.
This colander has a bit of a draining problem. Water tends to pool at the bottom in small amounts. Tilting it side to side rubbing my fingers underneath to help the water drain worked mostly, there was still water that pooled at the bottom around the edges. I love the size, I love that it's stainless steel. I bought my old plastic one at IKEA 30 years ago, it was time it met it's end. I've used this colander three times. First time was to rinse and wash apples, it did nicely. Second time was to drain pasta, the pooling of water on the bottom didn't bother me at all so with pasta it also did nicely. Third time I used it to wash and rinse fresh spinach, swirling it around tilting it side to side running my fingers on the bottom of it still left pools of water around the edges. I will not use this calendar for leafy vegetables at all ever again, it is suitable for other products. With the price for a 3 quart under $6, I am happy I purchased this product and I would do so again. For size reference, three large apples fit nicely, four not so much. It held three quarters of a pound of cooked thin spaghetti, it was perfect size. I washed 10 oz of fresh spinach and it could have held more. Thank you for making this product affordable.
