Granite-Ware 12 Quart Stock Pot

This pot is identical to the one my Gram had when I was growing up. The quality is exceptional. This pot is heavy-duty with a pretty nice speckled enamel. I recommend buying this pot.

First we got these for $13.92, and at that price point weare getting another three for our daughters. At that price these are well worth the price and just right for when you ned a 'medium to large' soup or chili pot.

I needed a pot deep enough to sterilize two quart canning jars, which it did but barely with the requisite 2" of water over the top of the Ball jar. There was oversplash during the 10 minutes of a rolling boil, but I wrapped a kitchen towel above the handles to catch the splashes and got the job done. This pot is very light so I don't think I'd want to cook something that would scorch easily, but I do appreciate the glass over steel construction for cleaner cooking. Made in Mexico for an American company.

The only reason I wouldn't recommend it is because the enamel is not as strong as I would expect it to be. The first time I used the pot my food stuck to the bottom of the pot and burned the enamel on the bottom.

Arrived damaged!! I chose this stockpot for durability but even though it's supposed to be strong and the enamel isn't supposed to chip it came out of the box messed up. The lid is so bent it won't sit flat and the enamel in the area is gouged in big chunks. The edge of the pot is also scraped up, so either this pot isn't as described or somewhere between assembly, packaging, and shipping something extreme happened to it. It should definitely not have been sold this way!

I received it packaged in a double box- the color and style is perfect- but sadly there must not be any quality control as the rim of the lid is damaged from a fall "before" it was packaged in the box itself. Thete was no damage on either box . It will - the CHIPPING - at almost 3 inches in length become a future problem with chipped enamel and showing the raw metal underneath..

I like the pot itself. It's sturdy and seems to be made well. I just wish it was wider. It's narrow and tall. Not for canning as intended.

I rated everything one star because it wouldn't let me progress to the next screen if I didn't choose a star but I never got the item they had to refund my money.

I bought two of these stock pots. I just boiled water in them. After I wiped them dry on the inside, my drying towel had black stains on it. This happened again when I dried the inside of these pots. These pots are black, the black color is coming off the pots. Why would I cook food in them and poison myself. I want a refund on both of these pots.

Quality is very poor. It's big pot but thin metal layer it's not heavy or thick bottom or whole pot itself.
