For my intended use, the Great Value brand stands up well on papper plates, easily exceeding Dixie standard and standing in for Dixie Ultra. As these are single-use items, anyone who needs Dixie Ultra strength and durability should be using real dishes.
Let’s face it paper plates are a dime a dozen, there’s a 1 million to choose from and it takes a lot for something to actually stand out as decent. Half the time they break or rip in half and whatever you put on them doesn’t end up making it to where you’re sitting to eat it. Luckily these great value paper plates live up to the hype. They’re actually sturdy, can hold a full lunch, don’t leak everywhere and the size is conveniently decent. Whether it’s holding a small salad or a full steak, they did the trick, all for a great price.
I use these paper plates for many different things daily. Although they are paper plates they are sturdy due to their thickness and the way they are formed on the outer edge. They are a coated or slick type paper plate that salad dressing or pickle juice doesn’t leak through. Because they are paper they can be used in the microwave. I use them as plates for food, covers over bowls or another plate containing food that may splatter while heating in the microwave. I also use them as disposable cutting boards for raw meat, to cut vegetables , fruits and to dice onions. I also use these plates while doing crafts like dough art, painting and to catch any hot glue drips. Great value paper plates have an attractive design, are made with comparable quality to name brands at a more affordable price for my budget.
The design is nice and it’s still a great price for the product but many times when I pick up the paper plate with even a small item like a snack it would tear the little seam around the edge. This then caused the plate to bend and lose the sturdiness. I will probably buy again because of the price and look of the product for everyday use.
WHAT has happened to the quality of these plates?? I’ve been buying these for over a decade. My last purchase was a little over a month ago with the now “old design”. Got these this go around and what a change for the worst! Like most everything anymore, charging the same price for a product but changing/ skimpking out on looks and quality! The colors/print look like the printer was running out of ink. These are now SO flimsy that they bend with even the slightest amount of food. Pretty much falling apart by the end of the meal. I am so upset over this. Why?? These are now the same quality as dollar tree paper plates. No joke.
i have been buying these plates for yrs. and in the last few.months i noticed a big difference in the plates.. .price went UP,, value ,strenght of plate went DOWN.. yeah they r still not to bad of plates BUT why short the customer.. they r NOT made the same quality - yet still raising prices.. Very unsatified.. i feel cheated by company.
I have bought these for years and for a long time they were great, but recently they have become so thin. If you don’t use 2 you’re screwed you can’t carry food on them. They just crumple.. These have really gone downhill. I wouldn’t buy them anymore after this last batch.
I have bought great value plates for years but they have changed. They are so thin and leak through so we are using 2 at a time. I will not buy them again. I can buy 200 Dixie plates for only $2 more and not have to use 2 at a time, which is a better deal.
What happened??!!?? These used to be great and I've been purchasing them for awhile now. I received them today and they're about half as thick as the usual. I still have some left of the prior design and the downgrade in quality is truly sad. Charging the same price for a much lesser product.
I usually buy the Aldi Brand Paper Plates but thought since I was doing a big Walmart order, I would buy Walmart's. Big mistake. The Great Value Paper Plates are not as strong or sturdy as Aldi Brand. I even tried doubling up but with one teaspoonful of egg salad and one of tuna salad, even the double Plate wilted and the first Plate even leaked through to the second. Really poor quality and waste of money. Never buy these again. 🙁🙁🙁
