this is one of those great value products that they do right . I love these beans . I currently have like 15 cans. I put them in a bowl and microwave them with some cheese and hot sauce. you can just eat them out of the can with a spoon . also great for beans and toast . I'm an American that appreciates smashing and spreading some beans on a piece of toast . or a bagel . its good try it.
This is one of those products that I like to have in the pantry at all times. It's a perfect side dish on taco nights and makes a good addition to burritos and burrito bowls. Because the beans are already seasoned, I don't have to fiddle around, sprinkling things into them. I can concentrate on roasting my veggies and making Spanish rice instead. I've used them often to make burritos to freeze and eat later. I just take all the leftover meat, veggies and rice, then crack open a can of these beans to bulk it all up with. Add a bunch of cheese, roll all those leftovers in and wrap them up. Then into the fridge and freezer they go. It's a nice thing to have on hand when you get hungry and need a quick meal or snack.
I love love love these seasoned beans! I use them in salads, in Mexican dishes, as a side, in a quiche and actually straight out of the can! They are so good! They freeze well if you don't need the whole can.
I thought the spice was spot on. I mixed with a pouch of pre-cooked rice and had the fastest rice and beans meal ever with nothing else needed. Delicious!
They did not taste as good as fresh beans, but after learning how to season to taste, I am very happy and our family really like them. The price is a real winner.
I like the product although I feel Walmart has unreasonably raised their prices during the inflationary period. They've also prematurely increased their prices due to tariffs. Lastly, we have found more now than during Covid, Walmart employees do a poor job of selecting products for online pick up orders. It appears it is a Walmart corporate directive. Very disappointing.
I bought 12 cans labled "Great Value Seasoned Black Beans" but none of them were seasoned with anything but salt. Instead, they appeared to be plain black beans that are generally half filled with liquid. I love Great Value Seasoned Black Beans which hav always been filled to the top with beans and taste great. Refund please. And i dont want yhis to happen again. When products are mislabled , who really knows what is inside the can?
The product is good, the delivery is horrible. 6/12, 50%, of the case was badly dented. I didn't get food, I have to now shop to replace it, and I have to return the damaged cans. A waste of time and NO SAVINGS by ordering on line, you're buying a hassle. (Pix attached-I found one more, total five, damaged, pix are for first 5.)
Out of a case of seasoned GV seasoned black beans, 8 was dented. Out of a case of GV southwest corn all 6 were dented. Let's just say I'm not a happy camper. I absolutely love both items, the food is good. once they're dented, and the seal has been broken, I don't eat them period.
They took away the pull tab top from the top of the cans! At work, for many years I have been eating a can for lunch every day because I can just pull off the top. I went to a the nearest Walmart stores and I bought up all the cans of Black Beans with pull tops. When I run out I will have to find another brand to eat for lunch everyday!
