Love this canned salsa. I keep salsa in my fridge but often run out. This canned salsa is a staple in my pantry. The taste is great and I use it frequently in cooking. I love that it can sit on my self and not go bad. The mild heat is perfect also. It has all the taste I love.
It used to be in a jar, I don't know why it's in a can now. Someone would never know, but it is the BEST tasting salsa out there in all the store bought kinds. That smoky taste and spicy kick combination is just right. If I have company over, I dress it up by adding some minced cilantro to it for a fancy look.
This Great Value Salsa is the best kept secret on Walmart's grocery shelves. It truly is better than any other brand of salsa I've ever tried. Whenever I see a customer scanning the salsa section, I always recommend they give this a try, at least once. I have never found a better mass produced salsa. We always keep a couple of cans in our pantry, because it's also a great addition to homemade chili, as well as many other tomato based dishes.
I bought this with love expectations. i bought it to use making rice, and to use as an ingredient inside of dishes that used salsa. I didn't plan on using it as a stand alone salsa and serve it with chips. The salsa has nice flavor. also nice size chunks. I personally like salsa with chunks of veggies, but not huge chunks. This was perfect
Really impressed with this salsa, it tastes fresh and does not have that can aftertaste to it. Tasted better than many jarred salsas I've tried, and its much cheaper. I don't like spicy foods but this had a heat level that I could tolerate, it wasn't too spicy. Spice level was mild-medium when I took the first bite but after a few bites the spice was more mild, meaning it got less spicy the more you ate it instead of more spicy.
I bought one can to try and it will now replace all others that I normally buy. It tastes like what you'd get on the table at a Mexican restaurant. Its heat level is at the top end of medium. It's thick and a little chunky. I wouldn't normally choose to eat chips and salsa but that's going to change. I can wait to find other uses for it!
I am so conflicted to rave about this undiscovered item at Walmart. The salsa is the perfect blend of fire roasted goodness, and I am shocked it doesn't come in a jar, but rather a can. Maybe that's why it's a secret. To me, it's just one notch below medium level heat, without being spicy. Some may want to add a little bit of garlic if desired, but I didn't need any. Please don't share this hidden gem with too many people.
I found all the five star reviews hard to believe but with that price, figured it was worth a shot. So glad I took a chance. This salsa is amazing. Perfect heat level; hot but not so hot you can't keep eating it. And you'll want to. It really is that good. Fire roasted flavor shines but doesn't overpower. Bought 1 can to start and am ordering three more right now. If you try it, don't be conflicted over leaving a review as one of the previous reviewers was. Instead of worrying about letting the secret out, buy it and review it and make sure Walmart never stops making it. I mean, who'da thought that one of the very best salsas out there would both- Be In A Can and Be This Cheap!! Try it, you'll be glad you did.
I really love this salsa! The fire roasted flavor makes it really good. I legitimately buy it almost every time I grocery shop. It is good just as salsa, but also great in recipes. It's great when added to chicken breast in the crockpot to make shredded chicken for tacos, etc. Probably my favorite way to use it is using in place of sun dried tomatoes in “marry me chicken/pasta” recipes.
All 6 cans were badly dented. I question that the contents are eatable. I called the store a couple of days later when I went to take them out of sack to store. The cans were individually in the sack and not in a box as indicated in the app. The gallon of fat free milk had milk missing because the delivery person dropped the milk on the sidewalk before delivering it a my door. My neighbor witnessed this as he was at my door when my order was delivered.
