They were soak proof but not crack poof. When a banana was placed on the opposite side with an Activia 4oz. yogurt cup and on the other side.. Oops! The Great Value Soak Proof foam plate went free-falling to the floor. The plates are swell for cake or chips and dips and even sandwiches, but not a good balancing act for a banana on one one end and yogurt on the other. I will still buy you for the price if nothing else. I've handled worse.
I bought the Great Value Soak Proof Foam Plates (8.8 inch, 150 count) because they're affordable and you get a lot of plates for the price. They do hold up pretty well against liquids and greasy foods, so the soak-proof part actually works. My only complaint is that the plates are very thin. Most of the time I end up doubling or even tripling the plates depending on what I'm eating so they don't bend too much. Overall, they're decent for the price and good for lighter meals or quick use, but I do wish they were made a little sturdier
I am surprised that the quality of the plates has gone down trimdeously. You can no longer put a piece of chicken, a scoop of potatoes salad and some beans on the plate and pass the plate to someone. I literally have to place my hand underneath the plate and do a side motion to ease it on the table and push hand slide, push hand slide to get it around the kids table. BLAH BLAH BLAH with the new high price and poor quality.
these foam plates have gotten to be so horrible. They are super thin! never did they use to be this way. Of course everyone is cutting back on supply but.... it has caused us to purchase a more reliable thicker brand now.
Used to love these and have bought multiple times. (teenagers who forget to return regular plates to sink). Not sure if a bad batch or what but there is hardly any lip on them. Can barely see the design on the edges and they are flimsy as heck. Used to have to use 2 if like FILLING the plate. Now you have to use 2 for the support. Will check at store and if they look the same, will NOT buy again. Would return this batch, but actually bought for a family event.
What in the world happened to Walmart plates?! They curl up in both ends prior to using(,paper plates don't do that) the Styrofoam is sloop thin you must use 3 at a time. The only thing it holds is a thin slice of cake( please don't add ice cream) or a small sandwich! This is one time Walmart should be ashamed of themselves
I'm sure it was kind of busy today at Walmart but I did not get the plates I look for them and I thought I had ordered them so I came back to look on my order and I saw that they was on there I was charged for them but I did not receive them and I kept looking and I went and did inventory with my order and what I received.
I have bought these plates for years and have always Like to them. I have seven kids so they work great for our family. The last four times I have bought them though they have been terrible! I’m not sure if they’re having trouble in manufacturing or what’s going on, but they are thin and the patterns not even on them that’s supposed to show up.
Product does not hold good well. Products is very flimsy and brakes fast. I would not recommend this plates for hot food or more than 1 item on them at a time.. they brake very easy and quickly you would have to double or triple plate to have a full meal on it
we have bought these plates for years but after the last 2-3rd time we noticed they were thinner and not as sturder but still usable. the very last time we bought them we noticed they were even thinner than the last 2-3rd time. this time we have to double up on plates to even support what on them. you can even lightly bend them in half with no problem because the quality has went down so much. we will save our money and purchase something of better quality from now on or use real plates but we will no longer buy these.
