I will never purchase Downey again the bottle design leaves way too much product in the bottle when you get to the bottom of it. The Great Value (compare to Gain) smells great, softens and leaves no residue. When you get to the bottom of the bottle you can pull the inside pour unit out and actually get out all of the fabric softener.

Smells amazing! I use about half the amount I usually use with a "name" brand, and my clothes come out clean. My son works at a busy deli counter and can come home with all kinds of stains. This detergent removes them all and leaves his clothes smelling fresh, and practically wrinkle free.

I bought the EXPENSIVE brand for many many years but one day my favorite expensive brand was "out of stock" so my husband came home with this store brand insted. He was all happy because he saved a lot of money. Of course I chewed him out !! BUT I used the store brand and to my surprise it worked GREAT, smelled GREAT, was less expensive AND I have never stopped buying it since.

The smell is amazing %26 exactly like the name brand but cheaper. Its compared to Gain Laundry Fabric Softener. It helps the same way like conditioning your clothes %26 controlling static cling %26 leaving your fabrics fluffy with a bounce. I actually remove half from the jug %26 replace with water because it is very thick %26 I do not like for my clothes to feel like they have soap or conditioner on them. Pouring out the jug is perfect but i would suggest that the spout, the plastic part where the fabric softener comes out, that part to be extended like a longer plastic piece than the short small spout that it currently has. I make my fabric softener last 2 times if not 3 times longer by taken away %26 adding water because I do not like my fabric softener to be thick because than when i take my clothes out they feel like they do not feel clean but like they still have soap or fabric softener on them. I like my clothes to feel clean but not like they have a residue on them.

This fabric softener smells awesome! I always liked P%26G products but I object to some of their company policies so with Great Value I can have the delightful smell and quality product but not support animal cruelty. The price is reasonable and it makes my clothes smell so nice. Hope Walmart continues to carry this product.

i only use this softner in my laundr. I also sprinkle this on my cement patio and water spray it off to leave a fresh scent as cats in my neighborhood like to sleep there and potty at times. if we are gone for days i put some in my toliet bowls and down the kitchen drain for fresh smell upon return.

If you don't keep trying new t h i n g s how will you know if there's something better out there that's me. I don't stick to one product I go all over and I'd find different things to match my moods This is my I love it summer smell mood Smells like I just took them out of the nice fresh air on the line That's how my grandma did it

I've switched to this fabric softener, as it has worked just as well as name brands I've used. The scent is pleasant, without being too overpowering. It has helped my clothes and towels to feel soft, and they feel refreshed too. One bottle has lasted me several loads, and so I think its a good value for the price point. Also, the item came in great condition; there were no cracks or leaking, which I appreciate. I would absolutely order this item again.

While the smell out of the bottle is fine(reminiscent of the old Downy), I don't notice any at all coming from the dryer. And for softness - it falls flat. Clothes feel like I haven't added softener at all. I won't buy it again - back to Gain Original Scent. This is a "you get what you pay for" product. Cheap isn't always good - this one is just "cheap."
